"Do you think it will be okay if I just straight up kill her?"
"Riley." I just called out her name.
"No seriously, if she is behind all that has happened which she is based on those recordings Mac got, then what's the probability she didn't set everything up that killed your dad?"
"Then Riley, we would get a confession from her and present it to other elder members along with the ones Mac gave us." Ben replied as if it was an obvious answer.
"Like they wouldn't be in this." She mumbled under her breath. I glared at her through the mirror and she replied, "Why are you glaring at me when I'm giving you every possibility of this situation?" I motioned her to look in front as I do want to reach Janet's house with my head attached to my body.
"You think I haven't thought of these possibilities?"
"Look Jasper, all we know is that we won't let you go alone." Ben replied, trying to maintain the peace in the car so that it won't wake Chelsea.
"We aren't going to kill her, we don't have that power yet. But we will be creating a situation that will make her surrender." I replied to her, trying to assure her that there is a plan. But there is no plan. I won't let them know about it.
"By doing what? Let her kill us first? Do you realize how stupid all of this sounds?"
"Look I have a plan in my mind-" "Then when are you going to tell us, after we all are helpless and about to die!"
"I'm not telling y'all because I'm the only one going to confront her. This is between me and her." I finally let it out, fed up with their constant demand for a plan.
"And you think we will let you?"
"You have no other option. Not when Chelsea is here." I looked back again, seeing Chelsea's sleeping figure leaned up against Riley's shoulder. She heard the recordings too and it gave her the fright of her lifetime. She knows that there are very few whom we can trust but she didn't think the person who was her mother figure would do something to harm her too.
"Only one of us has to be with her. Other one will be with you."
"Yes, and that person will be Mac." I declared, giving them a 'no arguments' look and they finally left the damn topic alone.
Venere... I know I love her. I have enough self awareness to know that by now. I have a hunch that she loves me as well. But she is hiding something, something more twisted than I have ever witnessed. And by any means I will unravel that secret. And that's why Mark is M.I.A.
"Then tell us what are we going to do? On top of all this Mark isn't receiving his phone! I want something that screams 'certainty' in my face!"
"Riley, I know you want to hear something comforting-"
"You think?"
"Will you let me finish the damn sentence?" I snapped at her, fed up with the attitude she was letting out. If I wasn't driving I would've just tied my handkerchief to her mouth and deprived her of any news of Mark.
