Chapter 4

Flashback

Ahyma sat hunched over a scroll that was sprawled out in front of her. Her green eyes darting back and forth as the information from the scroll seeped into her brain. The scroll was from the person that assigned her this secret mission, basically telling her what to look for and where is was.

The scroll provided all of the guards schedules, the guards information, certain traps, as well as other important stuff that would make this task much more simple than finding out the information on her own.

Ahyma was way too lazy for that kind of stuff, she could get the information just as easy. But in all honesty, taking a nap sounds like a way better plan.

Anyways, as Ahyma was soaked into this scroll. She heard a light tink as she heard a plate being placed down besides her. Ahyma looks up for a split second to thank the server before turning back to her scroll once more.

But it was hard to focus with food right besides her, so Ahyma gently closed the scroll with a huff as she tucked it securely into her hip bag. She needed a break from studying anyways, Ahyma then turned her full attention to her sweet and savory dango that was waiting for her.

As she reached for the dango, she noticed out of the corner of her eye a flash of blond hair. Ahyma perks her head up to the corner of the open door, she stares for a few seconds before a tiny head shyly peaks around the corner of the door. Ahyma noticed that the blond hair matched with the hair she saw moments before.

Why is this kid spying on me anyways?

Blue eyes meet green and the kid let out a nervous yelp as they ducked their head out of sight. Ahyma cocked an eyebrow, confused with the kids strange behavior. She shrugged it off thinking it was just a thing for kids to stare at adults when they eat.

Ahyma grabs a stick of dango and was about to sink her teeth into the fresh food. The relaxation suddenly hit her like a fist to the stomach. The kid wasn't just staring at Ahyma just to stare, the kid was hungry.

Guilt started to spread throughout Ahymas chest and despite her appetite from before. She suddenly lost it as guilt flooded her, normally Ahyma did a good job at keeping her emotions at bay and staying calm. But totally ignoring the kids signs and now he would have to go hungry sent Ahyma over the edge. It only made her feel guilty is because of her younger brother back home. And how he would give signs to his big sister when he was hungry.

Ahyma quickly set the dango down, stood up, and stroke quickly to the door. The kid noticed immediately because they turned on their heels and booked it.

"WAIT, KID HOLD ON!" Ahyma yelled after the kid, but to no avail.

"Are you fucking- Ugh, now look what you did Ahyma you blithering idiot." Ahyma cursed at herself before swiftly jumping onto the dango shop and running after the kid from the rooftops.
