Only a Few
Remember when I could look into your eyes
And tell the whitest of lies?
That I could never like you
You were made for only a few
It's not that you should care
I know that wouldn't be fair
I was just hoping that you could see
All the desire coursing through me
Maybe then you would hold me in your arms
Sleeping, as we ignore the morning alarms
Making every second together count
Loving the love that we had found
Do you remember that time we hung out?
And you were so high, you didn't know what you were talking about?
I recall that day at your house
You said the recipe for love takes less than an ounce
You and I smoked a bit of the potion
The effects came just after a small portion
But I knew for a fact that this was not love
You offered me more but I had had enough
You're just a young boy, so you can't be blamed
You haven't yet felt love but you know pain
Unfortunately, I know that feeling too
And it's all because you were made for only a few
