Ezra stood backed against the wall, his eyes burning as the Inquistitor walked toward him. The red lightsaber ran across the ground. Despite his fear, ezra stood up straighter and wiped the tears out of his eyes." You'll pay! I swear you'll pay!" He abandoned his lightsaber for the moment and summoned kannans. It flew into his hands and he lunged. Sure, the Inquistitor was older, and sure, he was more experienced, but he could not compete with ezras ferocity." Good boy, let out your anger! I could teach you so much more than kannan ever could!" Ezra's tear once more began to flow as he realized he was losing himself. Kannan, shaken by ezras inner conflict, looked up at his padawan who was standing, head down in front of the Inquistitor. Fear crept over and nearly consumed both master and padawan." No. This isn't what kannan would want. I won't let him down." The Sith smiled evily." Your master lays dying on the cave floor. You can't possibly let him down more." Kanan was in pain, but he didn't know about dying, but ezras eyes flashed in anger. He dropped to his knees, clutching his head." Nononononono!!!! Get out of my head! Leave me alone!" The Inquistitor was smiling as if this was all a show." Tell me padawan, what if I told you I could save your master?" Ezra looked up. Kannan wanted to scream. Why couldn't he scream? Couldn't ezra see he was awake?" How.... No! Lies! He's not dying!" He braced himself on the floor trying not to throw up. Help me, master, ezra thought. Kannan looked up and caught ezras eyes. The Inquistitor didn't notice. Ezra stood." I won't let you touch my master!" He threw out his hands and pushed the Inquistitor into the wall. Well, if the boy wanted to play with the force, so would he. The older force-user put his hand out and caught ezra by the throte. He squeezed tighter and lifted the jedi apprentice into the air. The boy scratched at the invisible hands, his fingers clawing at the skin and drawing blood. Ezra chocked for air. Kannan knew it was now or never. He lunged. The Inquistitor, sensing and attack, dropped the boy, and dodged. Kannans lightsaber was now in his hands again and he fought, as ezra tried to simultaneously fix his lightsaber and send Kannan his strength. That wasn't working out to well. He dropped his lightsaber and sent everything he had to his battling master. Kannan drew a quick breath as he felt his side stitching itself together. He glanced very quickly at ezra who was on his hands and knees. Oh no, kannan thought. He and the Inquistitor fought viciously, he couldn't be worrying about ezra. He had never been so proud and angry at the same time. Didn't ezra realize that if he gave him to much, he would die? Of course not. STOP! He yelled at ezra mentally. Suddenly, he felt ezras strength stop flowing through him. Well, he thought, now he knew that they could mentally send messages to each other. Kannan through his hand out and the Inquistitor flew into the revine below. He ran over to his padawan and grabbed his arm and they hobbled out of the cavern together. Ezra was leaning heavily on kannan. The boy almost couldn't support his own weight." C'mon ezra, I can't lose you." Ezras eyes began to close just as the pair walked out of the temple and the door collapsed behind them.
