Sabine was just painting random things on her walls when Ezra walked in, shaken up. "Ezra..," Sabine said as she walked over to him. She hated seeing her friends upset,(and she didn't exactly like it when they just walked into her room without knocking), but this seemed serious show she pushed that thought aside. "Sabine, do you still have those recorded disks that had belonged to my parents?" When Ezra looked up at Sabine, she could tell he was worried. "Yeah...yeah. Just let me find them..," she said as she walked over to her pile of things in the corner of the room. She liked things organized, so she made an organized pile of stuff in the corner to make room for other things, like painting. "Here!," she exclaimed as she pulled out the box with the disks. Ezra's face lit up and he walked over to her to take the box. "Thank you. Thank you so much," Ezra told Sabine as he ran out of the room, the box tightly held in his arms. "Hey-!," Sabine tried, but he was already gone. Sabine just shrugged and left her room to meet up with the other rebels in the cockpit.
Ezra hadn't really told Sabine why he needed the disks, but he was glad he hadn't had to have to explain why he needed them. He had had another vision. It was about his parents. They were waiting for their execution, kneeling before two Stormtroopers. He couldn't make out what they had been yelling. Or whispering. All Ezra could tell was that their mouths were moving. His mother's eyes were filled with tears, his father's face confident, but not cocky. And then he heard a blaster shot. He heard the shot and awoke. He hit his head on the ceiling when he jerked awake but he hadn't cared. What he saw had frightened him. As he listened to the disks, trying to calm his pounding heart, he started thinking. Had his parents been shot? Had someone helped his parents survive? Ezra's thoughts were interrupted by Kanan entering the room. "Come on, Padawan," he said. Kanan could tell he was interrupting something, but he didn't know what, and he didn't feel comfortable asking. "Okay, Master," Ezra replied, getting up off the floor and carefully avoiding the scattered disks as he went over to his Master's side.
After Kanan and Ezra has left the Ghost, Kanan asked what Ezra had been doing. "It was nothing," Ezra said. Kanan sighed. He was going to find out what was wrong. "Ezra." Ezra sighed. "Fine. I was listening to the disks again." Kanan nodded. "I kinda figured that one. I want to know why you were listening to them again." Ezra walked ahead of Kanan, making sure he couldn't make eye contact. "I can listen to the disks whenever I want, can't I?" Kanan sighed. "Ezra, you can tell me anything." Ezra looked down as he walked. "Yeah, I know." "So tell me why you randomly decided to listen to those disks." Kanan had met up with Ezra's pace was walking alongside the Padawan now. "It's...because..," Ezra sighed. "I had a vision." Kanan walked in front of Ezra and placed his hands on the young boy's shoulders. "What did you see?" He could see Ezra trying hard not to show any emotion. "My parents." Kanan took a deep breath and nodded. "And what were they doing?" Ezra looked away from Kanan, a deep sadness in his eyes. "They were being executed." Kanan gasped. It wasn't a dramatic gasp, more of a surprised one. "Ezra...-," Kanan said but the boy cut him off. "I knew they were dead, Kanan." The Master sighed. "Tell me everything you saw, Padawan." Ezra took a deep breath and hesitated before whispering, "I heard the blaster shot. Then I woke up." Kanan looked away from the boy, staring off into space. Ezra could tell he had wondering the same thing Ezra has been thinking while listening to the disks. "Kanan, they're dead." Kanan bit his lip. "But what if-" "They're dead." Ezra shook his Master's hands off his shoulders and walked ahead. Kanan ran after him. "Ezra? Ezra! Hey, look at me." Kanan grabbed the Padawan by the arm and spun the boy so he was facing him. "It isn't certain they died, Ezra. Have a little hope." Ezra sighed. "What's the point in having hope if what you're hoping for is a hopeless case?" Kanan didn't know what to say to the boy, so he sighed and looked at Ezra. "I don't know what to tell you...but you can believe what you want. Whether your parents are alive or they aren't, you are still a Jedi, and you still have a lot of training ahead of you. So whenever you're up to it, meet me in my room. Today we will meditate." And with that Kanan walked back toward the Ghost, and left Ezra questioning himself.
