⭐️Chapter 4

Zeb was awoken from a deep sleep when he suddenly found himself laying on the hard metal floor of ezra and his room. Zeb scrambled to his feet and ran out the door to the hallway. There he saw Kannan and ezra on the floor gathering themselves." What was that?" Zeb asked as he helped ezra to his feet." I don't know. Maybe it was your stomach." Ezra said smiling." Not now kid, let's go."Kannan, zeb, and ezra ran down the hallway, the ship still veering this way and that, where they joined with Sabine." What's happening?" She asked still in her armor and it was obvious from the paint spatters that she had been painting. "Thats what we are trying to find out." When they reached the control room, they could hear the sound of guns firing from the other side. Kannan over rode the control panel and the door slid open to reveal Hera firing the guns at an imperial TIE." Hera! What are you doing?" Hera didn't turn around but waved him off." Hera?" Ezra asked. At this, she turned around." Okay, there was an imperial transport ship in the path. I transmitted that we were just passing through but they still sent a TIE. So, once we were out of range, I engaged it." She returned to her guns. In three more shots, she had taken the ship down and jumped to hyper space." Why didn't you tell us that you ran into a transport ship?" Sabine asked." I didn't want to wake you." This earned a smirk from Zeb." You woke us up anyway 'oh great and powerful pilot'." If looks could kill, Zeb would have been a dead las'at due to the intensity of kannans glare. Hera chuckled. "So, is everything okay?"Kannan asked, still not convinced." Yes love, now go to bed." Kannan sighed and walked out of the room. Zeb and Sabine soon followed, but ezra stayed." I can't sleep Hera. Can I stay and watch you?" Hera smiled kindly and patted the passenger seat. Ezra walked over and sat down and stared out into the dark and light nothingness of space. Hera had always loved space and Ezra had, in his five-teen years, only been off Lothal a few times. That's why they were the closest when it came to anything related to flying." It's so beautiful out." He sighed. Ezra nodded." So how's the jedi training going?" Hera was always interested in his training." It's going well and I'm getting a lot better, but kannan still always beats me." Hera smiled. She was friendly and acted like a mother, always fussing about what you ate or whether your clothes were to small. Then, Ezra felt something. He froze, feeling a strong force presence. He thought he had seen a transport ship, but when he looked, there was nothing there. By now Hera had noticed and was sitting quietly, watching ezra. Then it passed. Ezra relaxed. Hera let out a breath she didn't know she was holding." There was something there. I could feel it."" What do you think it was?"" I don't know. I couldn't place its energy signature. It wasn't normal but whatever it is, it's alive." After about an hour of silence, ezra could feel himself drifting to sleep and all he could do was hope that it was long and dreamless. When he woke up, he was still sitting it the copilot seat next to Hera. He felt warmth crawling over his legs, then his chest, and finally his head. He cracked his blue eyes open a little wider. They were in a planets atmosphere and they were almost to the ground. He sat up groggily." Well good morning sleepyhead." Classic Hera." Why didn't Kannan wake me for training?"" He saw you sleeping and couldn't bring himself to disturb you so he told me to send you to his quarters after you woke up." Ezra climbed out of his seat and headed for the door. It slid open in a familiar rush. When he got to kannans room, he waved his hand to unlock the metal door. With a satisfying click, the door slid open. Kannan was sitting on his bed, not quite meditating but not quite aware of this plane of existence either. He kneeled by Kannan and placed his hand on his masters. Kannans eyes shot open and focused on his padawan." Glad to see that you are awake." He smiled." So what is today's lesson?"" For today, we are going on a little trip."
