Dinner went smooth. Gun helped Tay's mother in cooking so he could learn the recipes himself. Tay found himself surprised as he did not feel any nerve cracking moments given Muk's teasing even in the presence of his mom.
Tay and Off volunteered to wash the dishes as their contribution for the night. The rest proceeded to the living room for some bonding time. The conversations were mostly about Tay. Muk was trying her hardest to share every little story she can think of, both the remarkable and the embarrassing ones. New appears to be enjoying every bit of information and felt like he was having the time of his life.
Not long after, Off and Tay joined in. Realizing that the conversations were all about him, Tay was feeling all too embarrassed with the high intensity- like energy of her sister. Ei PMuk, didn't you say earlier that we will try the cakes you brought? I guess it's about time to enjoy them?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Muk replies.
Bet it will be all-sweet stuff again, Tay grins, you know too well I'm not into sweets, right?
Oh, I never forget brother dear. Besides, I brought them not for you. I heard there's someone here with a really sweet tooth. Muk looks at New and then Tay as if asking for confirmation. Before Tay can snap at her, she proceeds to the kitchen humming... "I like me better when I'm with you..."
Muk returns with three tin cans containing different flavored cakes. Wow PMuk, they all look soooo heavenly, New was drooling at the sight.
Tay's mom started laughing. I think that will go well with tea, and the lemon cake can be best paired with hot chocolate, she suggests.
Oh yeahhhh!! I agree with you Ma... I mean Tita, New replies. May I help you prepare?
Tay's mouth dropped slightly open upon hearing New. No, I'll go and help Ma.
No, you stay here and I'll go help out, New buts in.
No, you're a guest so just chill out here okay.
No, it's really okay. I don't mind helping, New insists.
Oh, you two are making me crazy, Tay's mom answers. Tay, New volunteered first, you stay here, is that clear?
Tay was caught off guard with his mom's reply but silently obliged.
New looks at him and gives him a wicked smile and a wink, then chuckles.
Off, Gun and Muk were having fun watching Tay as they started savoring the cakes and sweet air.
