My boot crunched on something on the ground, I looked down and exposed a broken snail's shell emptied of its once peaceful owner. I picked it up, examining it, it looked like it had been hit by a semi-truck and left to die here. It was void of all life, a voice said that it wasn't a productive life form anyways. I agreed and dropped it, stepping back over it.
Waterfall had become such a disgusting place, and knowing who once ruled it left me burning with anger. If Undyne had kidnapped my brother, she would get a piece of me and my sword. I kept a very open eye for either of them, looking in hiding places for Sans and trying to avoid Undyne's regular pathways. No such luck finding my brother, where could he have gone?!
I was sitting on an overgrown bench in a flower field near the path I was taking. At this rate I'd be in Hotland before I could even guess they were here. Undyne wasn't anywhere to be found and Sans was probably dead or just playing a very interesting game of hide-and-seek. I couldn't stand it anymore, why was I so scared anyways?! I stood up, throwing my food at a singled out Temonster. I threw my bag back up over my shoulder and stomped through anything in my way till I was at Undyne's very ruined house. I felt my eyes light up with my battle mode, I wasn't planning to get into a fight but it might just happen. I went up and almost beat the door into splinters with my knocking. Someone stumbled on the inside and there was moving throughout the house. The door whipped open and I raised my finger about to scream when her eyes widened. Seeing me for the first time in years must have been so infuriating that she didn't respond correctly as I had determined.
"P-Papyrus!!" She exploded lunging at me and bringing me into a choke hold?
No...not a choke hold. It was a hug?! I froze, what was happening? I thought she would hate me after not responding to any of her calls. I slowly rose my arms, I could have gotten rid of her right then and there. I hugged her back, eyes watering and my body about to crumble into pieces. I almost forgot what I had come for. Clearing my throat I took a step back from her.
"U-Undyne I...I'm so sorry for not saying anything, I know you thought what he did was wrong but I still love my brother. I'll forgive you and forget if you forgive him and forget. I needed to see if you took him from me again." I explained as her expression changed every sentence.
"Papyrus, I missed you, but I don't know how well I'll be able to forgive Sans, and nobody knows when he's gonna wake up again" she mentioned quietly.
"Oh he is awake!" I informed her enthusiastically.
"What?...." she asked, eyes widening and voice getting even lower.
"Yep!" I confirmed.
"At your house right?" She asked with a bit of panic in her eyes.
"Actually no, that's why I came here to see if you had him" I asked as a little bit of panic started raging in my chest, where was he?!
She went into her house, closing the door behind her. I heard a lot of kitchenware being forcibly moved around the house, a pot even made an entrance through a window. I walked over to another mushroom bench and sat there, waiting for her to come back out. I wanted her to say something to me "GET OUTTA HERE PAPYRUS" or "Hey ya know what pal? I'll help you find your missing brother so we can all be best friends again" or maybe even "Hey wake up this is all a nightmare".
I fell asleep waiting for her until I heard something crash, I looked over at her house and her door was on the ground. It looked like it had been plowed by a panzer. Hard footsteps went off in Hotland's direction, they were deep in the dirt and mud. I began to follow them slowly getting more and more worried. "You shouldn't have told her Paps". Sans's voice said somewhere around.
"S-Sans?!" I called out spinning in a full circle trying to see where it was coming from.
"You want her to kill me don't you?" Sans asked in a deep, menacing voice.
"N-no of course not! C-can you come out and talk to me??" I asked getting nervous.
"DON'T LIE TO ME PAPYRUS!!" He screamed from all around.
"D-don't hurt me!" I said falling to my knees beginning to cry.
"THEN TELL ME THE TRUTH!!" he yelled, getting angrier by the second.
"I want you t-to be friends a-again" I stuttered ducking more into a ball.
"Fine, choose her over your own brother" he grumbled as his voice began to fade.
"N-NO WAIT! S-SANS!" I yelled getting up and looking in all directions.
"He wasn't there? Where could he have gone? Had he even been there in the first place? Was I imagining that whole conversation?" My thoughts asked rapid fire. I fell on my knees holding my head, screaming. I couldn't understand anything that was happening. I needed help, I needed someone to rescue me from this cage I was trapped in. "PLEASE LET THIS BE A NIGHTMARE". I heard the voices scream all at the same time, I finally went unconscious.
