I walked under a broken slimy dripping arch, I looked over at a pool of greenish blue slime. "Gross" I thought to myself. I stopped, sitting down and leaning against a huge mushroom, opening my pack and eating some of my food. Looking around I watched a snail slowly crawl past my slipper, it was glowing with a purple swirl in his shell. I smiled at it, such a determined creature even though it's so vulnerable and slow. It got quite a distance in the few minutes I sat there. Then from around the corner a terrifying little monster pounced on it, chewing it with a horrible crunching. It looked like a Temmie was thrown into a nightmare, stirred around and then pulled back out as a terrible little monster. It spat out a cracked, broken shell on the ground and then sniffed the ground a little, I got up and packed my bag back up. It locked eyes with me, its eyes were pure white with grayish ovals as it showed me its hundreds little sharp swords for teeth. I felt my battle eye activate as it slowly prowled towards me. I was ready to take its head off with my axe when a whole bunch of them careened into the wall snarling and jumping over each other like a tidal wave of death. I started running as they all growled at me at the same time, I can go shockingly fast when I'm actually scared. I jumped over broken mushrooms and fallen boulders, sliding under giant rocks and through broken flower fields. I really didn't want to be torn to pieces by a ton of terrifying little monsters. I ran around a corner and slid into a small cave in the wall of rock. The Horde of Temmies broke apart and a voice came from somewhere above. A figure dropped down at them snatching one up as all the others scampered squealing and shrieking. They beat the Temmie Monster against a rock, killing it. They lifted it up and had a late lunch, they turned towards the area I was hiding. I almost gasped as they wiped their mouth, it was Undyne. My old friend, the last time I saw her she almost killed me by smacking this hole into my eye. I felt my eye activating, I wanted to get out of hiding and give her another piece of me, but this time she wouldn't surprise me or knock me into unconsciousness. But then I realized she just scared the wave of demons that had been chasing me. She even ate one. I covered my eye with a cloth so it wouldn't show and glared her from my safety. She coughed and sat down, staring up at the sparkling ceiling of crystals far above us. I sat up in my little cave watching her, she was bandaged to the teeth. She looked sad, her once beautiful face scarred up. She still had beauty, but her eyepatch was gone, showing her very deformed eye and her once elegant hair was drooping far past her shoulders and caked with dirt. She sighed deeply, I...wanted to hug her, I missed my old Undyne, I wanted her back. She probably still hated me for saving my little friend so long ago. I sat there, watching, waiting for her to leave or even try to kill me. She stood up and sighed, picking up her wicked looking spear and walking away. I slid out carefully and quietly and watched her leave from behind some cover. I still wanted her to run to me and hug me like we were still old friends, but something told me that situation would go very differently. I went back to the path I was taking before I had been chased by a tsunami of teeth and squeals. I picked up another little snail with a blue glowing shell and put it in my pocket with a few small mushrooms for him to snack on.
I looked around, hands in my hoodie pockets while I trekked through this new and greener Waterfall. It had become rotten though, with waterfalls made of a weird slime and only a few puddles, streams, and ponds of crystal water. I ended up sitting in my old flower field with new giant mushrooms and a new crystal pond with a small waterfall running into it coming from somewhere in the ceiling. Even these new "Rotting Falls" had beautiful parts to it. I thought about it a little and decided Waterfall had followed its caretakers appearances. Undyne still had beauty about her but mostly looked terrible, just like these Rotting Falls. I let my new friend slither around a bit and explore, being careful to not let another Temmie devour him. He most likely knew everything about Rotting Falls while I knew nothing, nobody said Undyne and The Horde were the only things out here. There was bound to be more twisted ones. I decided I wouldn't want to focus on the negative side while I was sitting in such a beautiful area. The mushroom I sat under gave me cover from the rain and the rain made everything look even prettier and crystallized. I smiled, picking up my little friend and putting him back in my pocket with a new set of mini-shrooms. I fell asleep, laying my head against the soft mushroom stem I leaned against, it was shockingly comfortable.
