When it was safe to do so, we went back to my house after the hearing. We still had to prepare to return to Hogwarts the following week. To get supplies, we went to Diagon Alley. I noticed that the reading list for Defense Against the Dark Arts was very basic, and the textbooks didn't mention defensive spells. If we were learning how to defend ourselves, why wouldn't we learn about defensive spells? Cedric and I spent almost every waking moment together because after almost losing him, we learned to cherish one another.

By the fireplace, we were enjoying each other's company. While he ran his fingers through my hair, I leaned my head against his shoulder and relaxed. As he kissed my forehead, he asked, "What are you thinking about, love?". Playfully, I said, "How much fun we are going to have together at school.". Apparently, Cedric knew that I was troubled because his hand was holding mine.

"What's wrong?" "I feel something terrible is going to happen, worse than last year." The memories of my nightmare in the hospital wing came flooding back. I described my horrifying dream in detail to him, and he listened without interruption. Cedric asked curiously: "And in the dream, did you join?".

Embarrassed, I nodded, "I did not want him to kill you again." I laced his fingers with mine and held his hand. "Well, if that happens. We'll fight it, and I'll be by your side to protect you." He reassured me. Then I smiled, "I love you so much," "I love you more," and he kissed me lightly. Whenever things got tough, Cedric always made me feel better. Because we had each other, I knew we could fight any danger together. He made me feel like I could accomplish anything.
