Bokuto had always wanted kids. When he met you and made you his girlfriend, the baby fever never died down. It wasn't news that he wanted kids, he told Akaashi, Kuroo, literally anyone who asked what he wanted in the future. His answer would be to become the greatest ace in Japan and become a father. Since you two started dating, he would ask you to start a family with him.

From when you were babysitting your neighbor's kid. "Babe we should have a kid!"

When you pass by the baby aisle in the store. "Oh my god babe look! The little onesies would be so cute on our kid."

When you got engaged. "Now that you're going to be mine forever, can we have a kid now?"

To now, three years of being married. "Sooo Mamas, whatcha doing?" He smiled as he wrapped his arms around you.

"Cooking, what did you need love?" You respond as you sturred your dinner.

"You know the empty room we have upstairs?" He points out as you two had just bought your first house together.

"Hm?" You hummed.

"Maybe," Bokuto plants a kiss on your neck. He lowers his voice to a whisper. "We should have a baby to fill that space."

"Ko," You dragged the syllable of his name. "Why do you want a baby so bad?"

"Do you not want kids with me, love?" He whines. He released his arms from you and sat down on the chairs by the middle island. "Our babies would be adorable."

"But you didn't answer my question," You turn around. "Why do you want a baby so bad?"

"Well, babies equal bigger family. Therefore, I want a baby," He explained. You chuckled at his logic. "Babe, I'm being serious. Give me a baby." He banged his hand on the table like a toddler.

"You're too cute bub, come help me with dinner and I'll consider it," You laughed. Bokuto was excited to hear this and quickly got up to help with dinner.

The next day while Bokuto was at practice, you met up with Akaashi at a café. "Hey Y/n-san," He says as he seated himself. "Are you going to tell me now why you wanted to meet in private?"

"Yes," You had a small gift bag and slid it to him. "Help me surprise Bokuto with that."

You watch Akaashi slowly open the bag and watched his eyes widen. "Wait this is real?" He smiled. You nod and he stands up to hug you. "How long have you known?"

"About five weeks?" You grabbed the bag, pulling out the sonograms and the pregnancy test. You examined the photos. "Just last night Bokuto asked if we could have a baby and change the empty room into a nursery."

"He's always wanted to have babies," Akaashi laughed. "Which makes me think, why were you so hesitant to have kids?"

"His career was taking off, I was waiting for us to be stable and he's happy in his career," You explained. "My due date is when he starts off-season so we'll have time with the baby."

"Well, we better get started on planning to tell," He says.

For the next week, you and Akaashi met up to plan your surprise. Bokuto was completely oblivious of your plans but still continued to talk about starting a family.

Then, the day rolled around. Today, you would meet with Bokuto and his team at Ushijima's place as a pre-season dinner. You tagged along like you did every year, just this time you were more nervous than ever. Akaashi came with Kuroo as everyone got a plus one, so you didn't have to worry about surprising him alone.

The dinner went smoothly as usual and then came the pre-game speeches. His coaches knew the plan too, making it easier for things to run. It rolled around to Bokuto last who thanked his coaches, teammates, then you. This was your chance.

You had tugged on Bokuto's sleeve just before he could finish his speech. "Hm?" He looked down at you. Akaashi had pulled out his phone to record once Bokuto started to lessen suspicions.

"There's one more person to wish you all good luck for the season," You say, reaching down for your bag. You hand him the bag and he puts down his champagne to open it. You watch as he pulls out the photos and the pregnancy test.

His eyes widen and looks down at you once again. "Babe are you serious?" He smiled. You nod and he immediately picks you up from your seat. Cheers around the room congratulated you while Bokuto hugged you. "I love you so much baby. Thank you for everything," He whispered.

"I love you too," You chuckled. "Don't hug too hard, you'll crush the baby."

"Oh sorry," He smiled. He turns to his team. "And lst person to thank is my new baby, giving me motivation to be the best placer and a great dad. Let's have an amazing season this year!"

The room is filled with clapping, cheering and joyous yelling. Bokuto turns to you and kneels to meet your belly. "I can't wait to meet you baby owl," He whispered, kissing your stomach.
