STONE POVIt was getting cold and dark every passing second. The place we were going was very close, familiar to my heart.
And unbelievably, I chose a soft-hearted teenager to show her what was invisible for other people. She seemed much comfortable around me as if I was her best friend. Talking about best friend, I lied everything, loathe her when I find out she could saw my damn eyes. I even hated more when she saw those fireballs like it was the most glorious thing in the universe. On the contrary, she hasn't any faults in seeing these cursed thing. She is just like me; we are same. There is no exact reason why I am saving her life, the only reason is if she dies the consequences would switch the life. I wanted that consequence, although something stopped me from taking her breath. One would say it would be an opposite bias, it is certainly not the thing. Cause, I am just a depressed lunatic!
Why I'm talking about her life in my messed up brain? O' my hell life, give me some dried crispy things to burn. How could the hell life will provide 'em when my life is already one of those burning hell?
Comical!
I came back to the earth when she complained breathlessly, "I cannot walk, my legs are frozen."
For the second time, she didn't ask me. Her first question when she sneaked out of the window was 'how I burn everything without any suppliers like lighter or matches?' And 'does I have any social medias?' Every mortal thing has the tendency to being nosy about unexplainable stuffs.
I didn't respond. She breathed abnormally that I couldn't stop myself from staring back to check if she was kidding of her age. Her eyes was an open sky, one could read what she contained inside her head. If I was the only one to witness her twinkling eyes? Tiny bits of sweats was on her forehead.
"You sweat in winter. No need to workout, baby!" Amused was my feeling. One thing, I noticed was she does notice one's thoughts to the outer appearance. There she was standing with her beanie on her hands staring back at me. Her hair was tied into low pony style, some strands were swaying in the chilly air. And suddenly her face gone grave, confused...
"Stone, what happened to your eyes?"
My eyes? I don't know. She must have seen the dimmer shade of my eyes. It was a balance because of her. A girl with the power of kryptonite.
"Contact lenses." I shrugged. She didn't believe my lie, presumably for the first time. She glared at me. To cut off her question, I asked acting innocent, "What? What about your legs? Are they sore?"
"Argh! If I was a huge monster, I'd have been lift you......" She paused, "uup-uoops!"
"We are monster in together." I replied. She amused me again. And for some minutes she didn't spoke as if she was repenting for what she was going to say. A slight blush crept up on her flawless cheeks.
I started to walk in tortoise pace as her breathing was hitched and legs numb. I felt her pain like the first one when we met here like it was planned. She had headache that time, dizziness to boot.
"How about a piggy back ride?" I offered imagining myself as an airhead ass.
"Can you read my thoughts?" She shot me a question casually. I blankly gave her a goofy fake smile. She suppressed her gentle laugh.
I was ready to squat down when all at once she ran ahead of me. Cheering and laughing. I didn't care about my offering so I followed her.
"Wooooh! This place is the best. You know, I don't wanna be a weakling. I have to prove her that I'm strong."
