APRIL POV"Call doctor," she wheeze curling up under the sheets. Her face was stiff in uneasiness.
Quickly, I scooted away to the hall and informed the staff nurse. She immediately phone called someone, maybe doctor and I followed her to the recovering room. As we entered, Sage was placed on the bed and a lady doc was beside her checking pulse with schthestocope.
She softly told the nurse to prepare an injection.
"Is she okay, doctor? Do I have to inform her parents?" I asked nervously.
"No, you don't have to. I know her," She gave a sympathetic look at Sage who was staring at the ceiling, "She is dear to me."
"She has fever. But, I didn't understand why she..has those patches?" It was my old anxious tone.
"It's lupus."
"What is it?" I didn't knew what to speak then. I lost my senses to the dark when one slowly sinks in. It was unbearable to watch her eyes drooping to the bottom.
"An autoimmune disease." She turned to me, "Let her rest. Once she wake up, her pulse will be normal. As a friend, you've to keep her positive, show her funny side of the world to keep her dopamine level high. She will be anxious from time to time, however..keep her strong."
"Yeah.." I slouched my body in moodiness.
It hit me so hard about Sage's health.

At around nine p.m when everybody was snuggling closer to their warm blankets, there was a person standing to the main entrance of the hospital. The cold air was stagnant unlikely to warm again. I had almost passed through several doors that emitted not a single word, my steps mingled with nurses and other people.
The unknown person reminded me of those people who wanted my best friend to die. They were demons on the earth. Somehow, miraculously no one has tried to contact or torture me. It was since I left this town though I'm back for short weeks and it's hard to believe they exist, maybe planning worst than their peculiarities. They didn't harm Sage, thankfully. Or..they might be spying on me to check if I ever mustered any courage to inform cops. I cannot think ever!
Suddenly, I stopped dead on my tracks. I felt someone presence behind me. Just few meters away was the entrance where a man was staring outside as if waiting for someone. He looked so familiar yet his head was covered in black hoodie. I cannot move forward neither retreat back.
All the people on this planet seemed to dissappear. Whoever behind me was very sure not to make noise. And if I walk outside, that standing person might...
A large dangerously cold hands caught my wrist, forcing me to look upon his presence.
"You walk so fast." He said in a mum voice. I stared at him soaking in reality. A safe reality. Phew!
"Kenzo! I was scared!" I yelled.
"Shh..silence zone pal. Didn't you see the pity stuck boards." He make me smile.
"Where..How is.. Mr. Ka.."
"Did you saw an ugly ghost or something? You surely do, eh?"
"I was going home. Would you?" I asked him to join.
"Of course, Ril." He broke my name into two parts and that is Ap and Ril. When he is in strange mood he either call me "Ap" or "Ril". Period.
The hallway was clear. No more strangers.
"So how is Mr. Karl?" I began relaxing a bit.
"Um..he got transferred to another hospital."
"Oh, is he fine?"
