KATARA'S POV:

Aang landed Appa and then helped me off. Sokka bolted over to me and hugged me. "Dude, I just hurt a few guards, I didn't attempt murder," I said, my back being crushed.

"Well, be careful next time!" he yelped. I slapped him. He ran to attack me but Aang stepped in front of me with his hands out, trying to protect me.

"Dude, don't hurt her," he said. Sokka stepped back. "Umm.. ok, bro. I wasn't gonna," he said. I blushed when Aang held me tight from in front.

"Chill, Aang, he's protecting her, not killing her, bro," Zuko said. "I still hate you," I reminded him. "So? That doesn't mean I hate you," he said as he checked my arm for any pain.

I was about to shove him away when Aang slapped his arm. He recoiled backwards and looked at Aang with wide-eyes.

We all sat down again in a circle as Zuko re-made the fire with some wood Toph found. We sat down around it and decided to just sit in silence.

"What the hell happened?" my dad asked, running with Chit Sang, The Duke, Haru, and Tao behind him.

We heard earthbending. Either someone made Toph mad or someone found us," he said. I nodded. "The second one," Aang said as he pulled me close to him. I blushed. What the hell.

"Oh, Spirits, who now?" Chit Sang muttered. "The Dai Lee," I said. My dad's eyes widened. "Katara, are you hurt? Did they touch you? Sokka, I swear-"

"Dad, they didn't touch me," I said. "Sugar Queen beat them off without missing a crumb," Toph said. Aang smartly grabbed my waist and held me back so I didn't attack Toph.

"Katara! Are you stupid? They could have killed you! They're highly trained in-"

"Hakoda, sir, I wouldn't let anyone touch her," he assured my father. Holy crap, my face was beet red.

"Why?" my dad asked. "Trust me, dad, he almost glowed on me just for teasing her," Sokka said. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I don't doubt it, but why?"

"Because he loooves Kat," Suki teased. Aang's grip was just barely enough to keep from attacking her.

"Kat, Kat, Kat, come on, ugh, Kat, come on, Kat, ugh, I- come on, Kat- ugh," Aang was struggling to keep me back.

"Ok, Suki, leave them alone," Haru said, rubbing his eyes. "Thank you, Haru," Aang said. Haru nodded as I lent against Aang.

"Because I care about Kat," Aang replied to my father. "Ok, I guess? I honestly don't give a fuck. Just get some sleep, already! Come on," he said, turning around.

"Can we stay?" The Duke asked. I nodded. "Yeah, come on," Suki said. Chit Sang groaned and followed my dad to Avatars know where.

"You love her?" Tao asked as he rolled himself in between Toph and Suki. I groaned and fell backwards onto Aang's lap.

"That's just proof," Zuko added. Aang held me back again as soon as he said that. "Hey, Kat, leave him alone. We'll figure it out," he whispered.

I slowly laid down in Aang's lap and he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"So you're finally dating?!" Suki asked, excited. Haru groaned and Sokka glared at us. "N-no, but- It's not that I on't want to but- No! I don't want to but- NO NO NO! UGH!" he groaned, falling backwards. I fell back with him.

"I- fine. Tao, truth or dare?" Suki asked. I snorted and Aang sat up with me. "What? We're playing truth or dare? Oh, well, truth, I guess," he said.

"Ok, um, not to be insensitive or anything, and you totally don't have to answer this, but how'd you hurt your legs?" Suki asked.

"Oh, no, it's fine. Uhm, it was actually Azula. She found me somewhere and shot fire at my feet, and to avoid it, I fell backwards on a rock sending a shock up my back and giving me paralysis."

I frowned. "That bitch," I muttered. "Oh, Spirits," and mumbled. "That's... horrible. I'm so sorry," Suki said. "Absolutely," Sokka agreed. Zuko nodded.

"Haha," Toph snickered. I water-whipped her. "Toph! That's not funny!" I exclaimed. "Yeah, it kinda is," she said. "Toph!" I said, water-whipping her again.

She tried to shoot a rock at me but Aang stopped it in mid-air. "Toph, I said next time you aim I'm shooting it back at you," he said. I blushed.

"Twinkletoes, jeez, I didn't mean to-"

"Spirits, Toph! Just don't hurt her!" he exclaimed, throwing the rock back and over Toph's head. She ducked and it just barely missed her.

"Aang, I felt that go over my head!" she barked. "Can you just not throw rocks at Kat?"

"Why do you care so much about Sugar Queen?"

"Because I do! Is that a problem?"

"Yeah! We're in a war, you can't be in a relationship! You have to end Ozai in a few weeks, and who know's if you'll come back or not?"
