KATARA'S POV:

We all gasped. "TOPH!" I barked. "What?" she asked.

"DON'T SAY THAT!" She looked confused. "Why? We all know it."

Aang held me back from attacking her. "Hey, I'm not going to die. Don't worry, Kat," he said, holding my waist as I tried to crawl away from him.

I blushed and my heart fluttered at his touch as I melted into him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tight.

"Hah. This is what I mean. You're the only one in this universe and the next that can keep her calm, and if you don't make it out of Ozai's battle, then-"

"TOPH!" I barked, lunging forward. Aang couldn't stop me this time."Oh, shit," he muttered as he got up.

I bolted to Toph and started to rip her hairs out. I punched her head, but Aang's arms wrapped around my waist again and that's all I needed to relax.

He sat down with me next to him again, and I lent my head on his shoulder. He slowly, for whatever reason, got up and walked away.

"What the hell?" Sokka asked. "Hah. My work here is done," Toph said. Instead of attacking her, I walked over to find wherever the hell Aang went to.

"Aang, come back!" I said. "No! Go away!" he barked. I stopped in my tracks. What?  Aang's never talked to me like that, like ever.

"A..." I trailed off. I could feel the tears well up in my eyes as he turned around. By the time he saw my face there were tears running down my cheeks.

"What?"  I whispered. He came running over to me, grabbing my cheek and wiping the tear with his thumb.

"Katara, I'm so-"

"Aang, you just want me to go away. I'll just do that," I said, walking past him, bumping his shoulder with mine on the way.

"Katara, no-" I heard his voice fade away as I dashed to my room, tears streaming down my cheeks.

I ran into my room and shut the door, shaking the whole house when I did. I leaped onto my bed, grabbing my pillow and screaming and crying into it.

Aang? No way, there's no way he'd do that. But I guess he just did. I- he just admitted it to me, that he- you know. Now this? No way....

I suddenly heard the door open and grabbed some water front the poring rain outside, which just randomly started a minute ago, and shoved it at the door.

Aang dodged it and ran over to me, hugging me as tight as he can. I tried to fight it off, but when he touched me, I melted into him.

"Katara, I'm insanely sorry. I didn't mean to yell," he whispered in my ear as he wiped the tears off my cheeks.

"Why, Aang? You just told me.... It was all a joke, wasn't it?" I asked, standing up and pacing around the room.

"No, Katara, it wasn't," he said, grabbing my hands and looking me in the eyes. I stopped walking and turned to look at him.

"Y-yes it w- mmffph," I stuttered. I was stopped by his lips on mine. Holy crap, Aang, stop this. I can't even do this anymore, but I can't stop it when it does.

After a second, he broke off. "It wasn't," he said. I nodded.

"B-but Toph's right..." I trailed off. He nodded. "I know, Kat. I know. I'll wait for you. I've already waited 100 years, what's one more month?" he asked.

I watched him turn around and walk to his room. I knew he was right. What's one more month?
