Annabeth paces at (Y/N)'s feet, biting the inside of her cheek as silence fills the infirmary. Chiron stands off to the side, looking down at the unconscious demigod with sadness as her eyes remain closed. Grover sits in a chair by her bedside, his knee bouncing up and down as the muscle in his jaw ticks with the grinding of his teeth. Percy sits on the opposite side of the bed, holding (Y/N)'s hand in his and gently rubbing the back of her palm with his thumb in circular motions.

None of them speak.

After five more days, they have no clue what to say.

Letting out a quiet sigh, Percy starts to loosen the hold on (Y/N)'s hand, his thumb going still.

Her fingers carefully wrap around his palm, and Percy gasps in surprise. The attention of the others moves to him, Annabeth's pacing coming to a stop. Percy tries to slowly move his hand away again, but (Y/N) holds it just a bit tighter, earning a soft chuckle of disbelief from the boy.

He returns his hand to her grip, and she relaxes, the eyes of Chiron and Percy's friends going wide at the small motion. "She knows," Annabeth breathes out, moving forward to sit on the edge of the mattress by her feet, "She knows we're here."

Grover leans towards the girl, taking her other hand. With tears welling up in his eyes, he brings her knuckles up to his lips, placing a light kiss on her hand before tightening his grip. Chiron takes a step forward as Percy's voice sounds, unsure: "(Y/N)?"

Silence is his response, and helplessness floods through him before a gentle pressure reaches his hands. He stares at it before speaking again, "It's Percy. The others are here, too."

"Hi," Annabeth says, a tiny smile on her lips as her voice chokes up.

"Hey, Dragon," Grover follows, a soft chuckle behind the words.

Chiron speaks next, voice laced with sadness, "Hello, (Y/N)."

"We miss you," Percy tells her, fighting back his guilt, "We all want you to wake up soon."

"It's weird without you here," Annabeth continues, her words humorously tinted, "Everyone else sucks at training."

"That's offensive," Percy lifts his free hand to his heart, exaggeratedly, and Annabeth rolls her eyes.

"Okay, maybe not everyone."

Over the next two days, Grover, Annabeth, Percy, and Chiron talk to (Y/N), her small, partially-conscious responses bringing them waves of comfort. They take reassurance in the soft squeezes of their hands or the gentle stirs during her sleeping state as they tell her stories or just converse amongst themselves.
