Chapter 16: Secrets revealed

Baez was scared, in fact she was shaking. In 10 minutes a bomb was going to go off and she was in the vicinity with the bomb.

Earlier that day:

54th precint sergeant: Reagan, Baez! We just got a tip that there's a bomb in the west building.
Danny: Scheduled?
54th precinct sergeant: Scheduled to go off in 2 hours. Alright everybody listen up! We got a bomb in...
Danny: Let's go Baez!
Maria and Danny exit the 54th precinct building
Maria: He said the west building, there it is, up ahead.
Danny: I see it.
Danny pulled the car around the left side of the building:
Danny looked Baez in the eyes
Danny: Are you ready?....Come on, let's go.
Just as Danny and Maria were about to get out, out of nowhere two guys start shooting at them.
Danny: Get down! Are you alright?
Maria: Yeah.
Danny: ok, you go. Find the bomb and...
Maria: What if it's a trap? And there's two shooters here.
Danny: I'll take them and, Maria, we can't take any chances. Bomb squad will meet you there just..find it and get everybody out and..
Maria: Danny, I know.
Danny: Just, be careful.
Maria: I will. I will, Danny. I promise, and Danny? I...I love you and If I....If I don't make it out..I...
Danny: I love you, more than anything. I love you, but seeing as two guys are shooting at us right now and a bomb is going to go off in 30 minutes.... there's no time for this.
Maria felt a little rejected, what if she died? And it seemed like Danny didn't even care, she thought.
Baez headed into the building, shooting at the men as she went.
Finally she reached the door and went in. It was rather quiet.
"Ok" she thought, "a lot of people could die if I don't find this bomb but, no pressure."
All of sudden, out of nowhere, hands grab  her throat. She starts kicking and screaming. Even more men grab onto her.
They carry her to a room on the right. "We don't need the cops ruining our show" one of the men says, roughly.
They tie her hands and feet to a chair, and right in front of her, is the bomb. Baez was scared, in fact she was shaking. In 10 minutes a bomb was going to go off and she was in the vicinity with the bomb.
As the men turned to leave, she started screaming and kicking. "You know, that's not going to help." A man on the right side of the room that she hadn't seen before spoke up. He had what looked like a needle in his hands. As he injected it into her neck she suddenly felt relaxed and closed her eyes.
