I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I am the worst though, so please accept this smut filled apology.

"Kylo," she shouted. "Has he been on this ship the entire fucking time?"
Lying had never been Kylo's strong suit. He was decent, though he'd come to rely on his helmet to mask any giveaways in recent years.
But with her, his pesky little apprentice, he found even basic deception to be difficult.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Pet."
But of course he knew. Kylo knew about the man with the busted lip and blackened eye strung up in one of the interrogation rooms. After all, Kylo had put him there.
And so did she, thanks to Kylo's apparent inability to lie to his apprentice and her impressive deduction techniques.
"I'm coming with you," she announced. "I-"
"No."
It was primarily because he didn't want her to be reminded of that violence he was capable of, and partially because a small piece of him worried that he would risk her wanting to run back to him.
Would she ask to be with him again?
"Yes, I am."
"No, you are-
"I have a right to talk to him," she interjected. "He abandoned me and I have a right to make him understand what a piece of shit he is!"
Kylo stepped in closer to her. He has a hard time softening his severe expression at times, but he tried his best.
"Are you sure?"
The anger in her eyes wavered a bit. He would never say it, but he got a glimpse of a hurt young woman in her eyes rather than a steel-faced fighter. And he really didn't like how that made him feel.
"I need to do this," she replied. "I need to end this. I need closure."
Closure.
Tricky thing, closure. Elusive and vague and never quite attainable.
Kylo brought his helmet above his head and slid it on, letting the air chamber hiss and close around him.
"Then follow me."

Vyn was still slouched in his metal chair that was chained to the wall of the interrogation room. A swollen black eye, busted lip, and bloodied jaw.
Kylo's stomach rolled when he uttered her name.
His apprentice was stone faced as she faced them. She didn't speak his name in return.
The prisoner's expression wavered, as if he recent events had just returned to his memory. You know, the whole abandonment thing.
"Babe, I-"
"Don't you dare call me that."
Her voice was like ice water in the veins. The prisoner seemed too taken aback to reply.
"You fucking left me," she hissed. "You left me to get captured so you could save your own ass!"
"Babe, I-"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT!"
Kylo watched the slightest bit of tension leave her shoulders as his hand brushed her lower back.
