Surprise — still here!
Sorry this took a short eternity. I got COVID, had a love life crisis, few more meltdowns, etc. you know the vibes.
If this is awful, don't tell me right now because I am way too fragile. Ok thanks love you bye.-
There was a definite shift between Kylo and his apprentice.
Ever since he'd rescued her and helped her recover, she was far more agreeable. Less tense around him. He might go as far as to say that she had been pleasant.
She'd recovered well over the past couple of weeks. The color had returned to her cheeks, and she was looking like her normal self again. The circles under her eyes had lessened, her eyes seemed brighter. Back to her playful demeanor with less snark and sass.
Well, a little less.
But she had asked him to keep training her, even when he gave her a way out. Whether it was just because she had a lot of dislike for Vicrul or not, it still said something about her changing perception of him.
She was beginning to trust Kylo.
It was subtle, but it was there. She was less jumpy, her stares less questioning, her body less tense. She'd smiled at Kylo more in the last few days than she had in the entire time she'd been with him.
He'd been in a good mood ever since.
Kylo had just gotten out of the shower when there was a loud, rapid banging at his door.
He haphazardly dried his hair with the towel and slid on a pair of black lounge pants that clung to his still damp skin.
On the tip of his tongue was a readying urge to unleash hell on whatever 'trooper decided to bother him. Or to scalp Hux if that bastard was the source of the knock.
Loud and impatient did seem like him.
But Kylo crossed his quarters and opened the blast door to see his apprentice standing there, looking something between shocked and angry.
He blinked at her. Wondered if he was imagining this.
"Can I come in?"
Her words were short, her tone clipped. It sounded a lot more like a demand than a request.
"Hello?"
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "Well this is new."
The corners of her lips pulled downward."What is?"
"You've never sought out my company before," he replied. "It's not like you."
She arched an eyebrow at him. "Can I come in or what?"
He gestured for her to entire finally. She stepped over the threshold and he let the blast door close behind her.
Now just her and Kylo alone.
And accompanied by some unknown tension rolling off of her in waves.
She spun around to face him the second she was inside the room. "What the hell is this?"
