Chapter 5

Najenda: So how many are there?

Lubbock: Based on the movements on my barrier, I'd say about 8.

Najenda: If they were clever enough to sniff us out. They're most likely tribal assassins. Finish them quickly. Don't let them leave here alive.

The whole team of Night Raid was running through the forest. Tatsumi and Bulat went together while everyone else went alone.

Bulat: This is still your first mission with us, so try to be careful.

Tatsumi: Sure thing.

Bulat: And the second thing is, either call me handsome or bro.

Tatsumi: You got it, bro.

Bulat: Yeah! Now we're talkin' Wait, let me show you something.

He stopped in the middle of the field and took a stance.

Bulat: Incursio!

He shouted as a dragon figure came up from the ground and encased Bulat. He wore dragon-like armor with a red spear equipped.

Tatsumi: Wow! So cool!

Bulat: This is Imperial arm Incursio.

Tatsumi: I don't know what Imperial arms are, but that looks awesome!

Bulat: Ah, I see you've recognized its greatness.

The air blew softly as the assassin's presence could be sensed.

Bulat: Don't let your guard down. Here they come.

An assassin wearing a wolf mask jumped from the bushes and Tatsumi did an upwards slash across his chest and killed the man. He looked back at Bulat and saw at least 6 men running around him.

They all jumped in the air and Bulat spun his spear around. He cut them to pieces as their blood rains down on his armor.

On the other side of the forest, Y/N was standing in a field with many men surrounding him. He made quick work of them by dodging their attacks and using his fire to melt their weapons and kill them in a single hit.

Y/N: Man, none of these guys can put up a good fight. Oh well.

He was walking off but stopped when he heard a loud gunshot. It lasted a few seconds before it finally went quiet.

Y/N: Must be Mine. I'm surprised how she can move so quickly with that thing.

The assassins were taken out not too long and the group headed back to base.

Back at the base, Y/N focuses on his movement and fighting skills in the training grounds. After that, he goes for a quick hunt and cooks it before letting the day go by and going to sleep.

The next day, Y/N stretched as he walked towards the main hall. Sheele walks up to him while cleaning her glasses.

Sheele: Is something wrong?

Y/N: Hmm? Oh, no. Just waiting for Mine to wake up. We have a mission to go to the capital together.

Sheele: Well... She does have a habit of sleeping in.

Y/N: What I would give to have that habit.

Sheele: Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll go wake her up.

Najenda: Wait, let Y/N wake her up.

Y/N: Fine. I want this mission done with.

He said as he walks off and leaves the 2 girls alone. As Y/N walks to her room, he slowly opens the door.
