Chapter 12

Y/N was knocked out and dragged into the palace by Esdeath. Tatsumi, Lubbock, and Leone returned to the base where they explained what happened.

Mine knew that rescuing Y/N was out of the question. They can't march inside without a plan. The best thing they could do was move their base farther from town. They're too easy to spot at the moment.

IN THE CAPITAL

Y/N's eyes slowly opened as his vision became clear. He found himself sitting in a chair in a room and the collar Esdeath put on him was still around his neck.

Esdeath: Good. He's awake. Everyone, Y/N here will be a part of our team. I felt it. He is going to be my love partner.

Bols: You just dragged him out of the arena like that?

Run: Why does he have a collar on?

Esdeath: He's my lover, of course. I want him to stand out.

Run: Then you might want to reconsider. Having a collar on him makes him look like a pet and not your lover.

Esdeath: ...I have considered your thought. very well, I'll remove it.

She unlocks the collar and removes it. Y/N rubs his neck.

Esdeath: By the way, are any of you in a relationship?

No one answered. There was a hand raised though. Bols had his right arm raised as Wave freaked out.

Run: Do you have a girlfriend?

Bols: A lovely wife of 6 years. I don't deserve such a good woman.

Esdeath: Then maybe you can help me. What can I do to make Y/N return my affection?

Bols: Never give up. My wife turned me down twice before I found my moment and swept her off her feet. It may take some time.

Esdeath: This is helpful.

She took down notes in her notebook. Y/N was pulled as he didn't know how to process the information and situation he was in.

Y/N: Excuse me, I appreciate that you've taken a liking to me, but I don't have time to be indulged in this whole thing.

Esdeath: Fufu. You'll need some training to get you to be obedient.

Y/N: (And she's not listening.)

Guard: General Esdeath, we have reported on the bandit hideout. We have their whereabouts as we speak.

Esdeath: Brilliant. Well, everyone, you get to have your first bit of action. Let's go, Y/N.

Y/N: me too?

Esdeath: I want you there. You can watch everyone.

They exit the capital and head into a forest. Y/N was keeping track of his surroundings as Esdeath pulled him off onto a nearby mountain while the others went to the hideout.

Y/N: Why am I here?

Esdeath: You're part of the Jaeger reserve. You should watch it for future reference.

He watches the group walk up the steps before stopping in front of the gates.

Y/N: (Maybe this can be my chance to get away.)

He felt something get placed on his hand and Saw Esdeath's hand on his. She didn't look at him as she just smiled.

Y/N: (Well, not anymore.)

Back with the group, the bell of the fort rang and the gates were open. Many bandits walked out with their weapons at the ready.

Bandits: You're pretty stupid to attack us head-on!
