Early update, I know I'm so great you don't have to tell me (this chapter isn't that great tho so idk if this means anything lmao)
But you guys have no idea how excited I am for the next couple of chapters holy crap

"Fynn? FYNN!" Ella calls as Fynn disappears through the door, letting it bang shut behind him.
I frown in concern as Ren speaks up. "What in the hell was that?" He asks, and I shake my head.
"I don't know. But I'm going to find out." I say, sitting up with a wave of dizziness. I stagger, before Ella sucks in a breath and lightly pushes me back down onto the bed.
"Chloe, no. You just passed out. You can't be moving around just yet." She chided, shooting me a serious look. I attempt a glare, but my vision is still swimming.
"But I need to-"
"No, Ella is right." Ren finally speaks up, his gaze locked on mine and his voice strangely tight. "You need to rest for a while. Get your strength up."
"Look, I'm fine-"
"No, you're not. You're not fine." Ren snaps loudly, and I freeze. He's never snapped at me like that before. Even when we met.
Ren freezes too, and I see Ella's gaze look between us slowly.
"Okay, well, I'm...just going to go check on Fynn." Ella says hesitantly, and quickly exists the room. The door shuts behind her.
Ren and I don't say anything for a while.
The silence stretches.
But yet again, it's not an awkward silence. It never is, with him.
"...you okay?" I ask him. He blinks, absentmindedly wringing his hands together.
"You're worrying about me? When you just passed out?" He questions, and I smile slightly, nodding.
"Well yeah, of course I am. You're my friend." I reply. The left side of his mouth quirks up at the word 'friend,' and I find that I like it when he does that.
"Friend, huh? When did that happen?" He jokes, and I giggle.
"You tell me."

I soon find out from Ren that I was passed out for about six hours, to my immediate shock.
How could I have been unconscious for that long?
But unfortunately, that meant that it was the middle of the night. After talking with Ren for a while, he wished me goodnight and headed back to his room.
He's funny. I never really realized that before.
Ella came in a little bit later, wishing me goodnight as well. I could tell something was up with her though. I'll ask her tomorrow. Make sure she's alright.
But even after a while of sitting alone, I realized that I couldn't sleep.
Ugh, this is stupid. Maybe I need to stretch my legs or something.
