AURI'S POV
I take a deep breath as Scarlett knocks on the door of the room next to her and Zila's, the same rhythm as Fin's knocking.
I'm going to see Tyler again.
Who I thought was dead.
The thought fills me with excitement.
"Yeah?" I hear Tyler's voice from inside, and I start to smile widely.
"We're coming in, dummy." Scar calls, and I hear a yell of acceptance before she puts her hand on the doorknob and turns it.
"Ty? Guess who we found~" Finian teases as Scarlett opens the door to someone's back.
"What?" Tyler Jones scoffs, turning around, his eyebrows creased in annoyance.
Just like Scarlett, he doesn't see me at first.
But then he does, his eyes widening in shock.
"Auri?" He asks in a disbelieving whisper, and I feel my smile widen.
"Hey." I greet, stepping forward in anticipation. And then before I know it he's running over to me, catching me in a big hug. My heart lifts in both relief and happiness.
I laugh, hugging him back. "Great Maker Auri, you're okay! How? When?" He asks in shock, pulling back a bit. I giggle, shaking my head.
"Again, very long story, not important right now." I reply, and he laughs, grinning from ear to ear. My heart warms, before I look at his face and realize he still has his dimples.
What am I thinking, he's Tyler. Of course he does.
"Expected. As long as you're okay." He says, and I nod.
"Yeah. Just- wow." I turn around to look at everyone in the room, releasing Tyler. "I still can't believe you're all here."
"Well, believe it, Stowaway. We're not going anywhere." Finian snorts, giving me his signature grin. I smile back, getting a rush of nostalgia at seeing everyone back together again.
But then I feel a pant of emptiness, and I suddenly realize who's missing.
Kal.
Oh god, please no.
Scarlett sees my smile falter, and she cocks her head in confusion. "Auri, what-"
But Zila speaks up, interrupting her. "Yes, Kal's here too." She says, reading my face. Everyone in the room pauses, turning their heads to look at me.
"Oh, yeah-" Tyler starts to say, but is interrupted by a familiar sound.
A very familiar sound.
A series of knocks, that I just saw both Scar and Fin do.
