I'm sitting in the main bay, watching over the controls.

I have a picture of my old friends in my hand, and I'm looking at it for old times sake.

It's been a while since I really unearthed those memories.

"Hey girl." I hear from behind me, breaking me out of my thoughts. I turn around to see Scarlett and Zila moving to sit in the chairs next to me. Scarlett smiles.

"How's everything looking?" She asks, pushing back her slightly longer hair. I can see some blond from where she needs to dye it again.

"Decent. Haven't had to touch anything yet, so fine." I reply, my voice a little tight as I hide the picture on the side of my leg. Scar furrows her eyebrows, lightly squeezing my shoulder.

"You sure?" She asks, her eyes filled with sisterly concern. I nod.

"Yep, perfectly fine." I say, a little smile on my lips. Zila stares at me, her head cocked. She looks kind of like a puppy.

"You're hiding something." Zila states, no question or debate in her tone. I sigh.

"You always know, Z." I laugh dryly, and finally hold my picture up. Scarlett looks at it, studying it.

"Who are those people? Did you know them?" She asks.

"Of course she knew them, she has a picture of them Scarlett." Zila speaks up. Scar lightly kicks her in the leg.

"It's just a question, Zil." She says in a teasing voice, and Zila shrugs, a small smile on her face. I giggle.

"Okay okay, no arguing. Yeah, I do know them. Or, I did." I say, the last part nearly a whisper. Scar's face becomes serious, her hand coming to rest on my shoulder.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell us, we don't need to know." Scarlett murmurs. Zila nods, looking at me with a hint of concern. I shake my head.

"No, it's okay. It's fine." I reply, and blow out a breath, forcing my voice to become stronger. "These guys were my best friends. From before."

I see my Scar and Zila's eyes widen before I continue.

I hold up the picture so they can see it, my hand wanting to shake. "This," I point to the blond girl next to me, "is Kaylie. She was my best friend. Hell, practically my soul sister."

"She seems nice." Zila speaks up, looking at the photo. I nod, smiling slightly.

"She was. And this," I point to the boy standing on my right, "is Jasper. He was the comedian of the group. Always wanting to make us smile." I say, a light smile on my lips at the memory.

Scarlett laughs quietly, going in to squeeze my hand. "Sounds like Fin."

"Yeah. He does. But he could also be a hard ass when he wanted to." I lightly giggle, before my eyes flit over to the last boy in the picture. My smile drops, my heart with it.

Scarlett squeezes my hand again. "And who's that?" She asks gently. I swallow, before replying.

"That, was Maven. We called him Mave to annoy him sometimes. He...I used to like him. Like...really like him." I manage to get out, my voice becoming tight.

"You can stop if you want." Scar comforts, her hand traveling to my shoulder and squeezing it. I shake my head. Talking about it will make me feel better.
