CHAPTER 13

I woke up next to Chaeng. Is it Monday already? And the exam is today... Oh shit.

Mina: Chaeng, babe, wake up. We got a test today.

Chaeng slowly opened her eyes as she mumbled.

Chaeyoung: Hm? Gimme five minutes.

Mina: Babe, please.

I pulled her up.

Chaeyoung: Alright, alright. I'm up, Minaguin.

We walked to the bathroom and showered. Together.

We took Chaeng's car and I sat in the passenger seat. I stared at Chaeng while she was driving. Damn, I am lucky. Chaeyoung glanced at me and smiled.

Chaeyoung: What is it?

Mina: Nothing. Just thinking that I'm really lucky to have you.

Chaeng grabbed my thigh. Fuck, that's making me go crazy.

Chaeyoung: I love you so much.

I'll never get tired of her saying that to me. I placed my hand on top of hers.

Sana: Thank fucking God, the exam's over. All we have to think of is the dance.

Momo: It's also the night we all graduate! I'm so excited about it.

Chaeyoung: Samo, can I talk to you guys for a minute?

Samo looked at me.

Momo: What about Minari?

Chaeyoung: It's a little secret.

Samo followed her while I waited in the hallways. What secret? Is Chaeng keeping something from me?

A few minutes later, they came back while grinning.

Mina: What's it about?

Chaeyoung: It's nothing, Penguin.

Chaeng kissed me on the cheek. What the hell is it about?

We reached Chaeng's car when I decided to ask Chaeng about it again.

Mina: Cubbie, what were you talking about?

Chaeyoung: It's nothing. You don't have to worry about it, Minari.

Mina: You sure?

Chaeyoung nodded. I got into the car and Chaeng drove to her house.

Sana: Minari, what are you gonna do about your scary ass parents? Didn't they slap you?

Mina: They did and it hurt like shit. And for now, what I'm gonna do is this. Leave them to think about what they did to me.

The rest of the trip, I was silent while Sana and Momo were making most of the noise. I stared at Chaeng for most of the ride. Should I worry about it? Why would she tell something to Sana and Momo instead of me? And what the hell did she say "maybe it would be near" to me last night? Maybe I'm just overthinking.

We reached Chaeng's house a few minutes later. We talked while sitting on the couch.

Sana: So, what're you guys wearing to the dance? We only have about a week left.

Mina: I don't know. Maybe I'll go shopping for a dress or something.

Momo: Bring me! I need to impress Heechul. What about you, Chaeng?

She thought about it before answering.

Chaeyoung: Maybe a tuxedo? I mean, I have a girlfriend to impress.

She winked at me and I turned red. She leaned to whisper to me.

Chaeyoung: I have a surprise for you on prom night.

Mina: Would I love it?

Chaeng shrugged. Okay, she's being really suspicious. But I guess I'll find out soon.
