The friends were sitting at Central Perk as per usual and Ross had just gotten a girl's phone number. He made sure to exaggeratedly drop it onto Rachel as she tried to read a magazine on the couch.
"Hello! What's this?" He laughed as he picked it up, "Oh right it's that girl's phone number. Yeah, there it is, just a phone number a really hot girl gave me. It's no big deal, I mean it is her home phone number, but..." He frowned when Rachel didn't even look up from her magazine and threw it onto her again, "Whoa! Whoa-whoops, I almost lost this baby! Yeah, the lovely Amanda gives me her number and I go and drop it."
"Ross, if you don't shut up about that phone number I will shove it down your throat so you physically can't talk about it anymore," Veronica threatened dryly as she gave him a bored look.
He frowned and bristled at her threat before he started waving the napkin in front of Rachel's face. But before he could say anything else about it, Rachel ripped it out of his hand and gave it to Phoebe just as she sneezed.
"Thank you," Phoebe smiled sheepishly as she held the napkin out to Ross.
"Rachel?" Gunther called as he walked over to the friends.
"Yeah?"
"When's your birthday?"
"May fifth, why?" She smiled excitedly.
"Oh, I-I'm just making a list of people's birthdays," Gunther explained with a nervous shrug.
"Ooh," Veronica grinned at the prospect of talking about herself, "Mine's October 10th!"
Gunther nodded as he wrote it down. "Okay, Rachel's pretty friend."
"Oh, mine's December-"
Gunther cut Ross off with a roll of his eyes. "Yeah, whatever."
"Oh, she's pretty. Pretty ah, pretty girl, the pretty--she's pretty," Chandler stuttered out when a girl with a bob cut walked into the coffee house.
"Just go up to her and ask her out," Monica suggested and rolled her eyes when he gave her a look of disbelief, "Oh, what's the worst thing that could happen?"
"I could die," He huffed seriously, his eyes moving to Veronica regularly.
"Yeah, it's tough being single," Ross sighed and smiled, "That's why I'm so glad I found Amanda."
Rachel rolled her eyes and turned to him in annoyance. "Ross, you guys went out once. You took your kids to Chucky Cheese, and you didn't even kiss her."
Ross' eyes widened in shock and he stared at Chandler in disbelief.
"I tell people secrets. It makes them like me," Chandler shrugged.
"And I use those secrets to gossip," Veronica shrugged before she stood up, "Chandler, I need you to look over my bank statement. I don't think I have enough money to afford breathing."
