Chapter 9: Second Blaze

-JUST COFFEE-

"Mhm, yeah, okay," Rehan nodded slowly, telling the other person on the phone their point got across. "Are you guys all okay now?"

"Yeah, nothing, but minor injuries,"

"Okay, is it okay if I get my cousin and his friend...Kazuo?" Rehan asked.

"I'm not his friend," Kazuo deadpanned while drinking his coffee causing Jiryu to giggle.

"Certainly," Omi replied back.

Rehan ended the call to be looked back at with confused faces.

"Your friends?" Jiryu asked.

"Yep, and you're kind of tagging along too," Rehan muttered, catching at sight of Kazuo rolling his eyes in the corner of his eye. "Sorry,"

"No, you don't need to apologize. I just have a tight schedule this week. Got a case to figure out and everything, you know? But, I'll tag along," Kazuo shook his head.

"Yeah, you better," Jiryu whispered, glancing at Kazuo to see if he heard
and was met with a death stare. Jiryu stuck out his tongue playfully.

"What happened?" Kazuo plopped his cup back down, ignoring the blond.

"Well, explosions and a fire broke out in the school close to our shop this morning," Rehan said before picking up his phone and coming out ffrom behind the counter. "We've got to get going,"

"Alright then," Kazuo stood up and went straight to the door, Jiryu following behind and locking the door. He looked at the shop one more time before leaving.

"We're close by," Rehan looked at the familiar path of the forest then to the right where the school was supposed to be. He saw faint smoke and there was no ambulances escorting the injured.

Weird.

He opened his phone and went back to the recent calls to phone Omi.

"Hello?"

"U-um, yeah, we're close by, are you at Zen's house?" Rehan asked to make sure.

"No, we're a little farther than that. Do you know the park nearby your shop?" Omi asked.

"Yeah I do, you're there?" Rehan looked behind him.

"Yeah,"

After ending the call, Rehan pointed to the shop and Kazuo nodded, Turing around again to change their path. A few minutes later, they were walking to the park, Kazuo taking in the views and aspects of the place since he's never been here. Rehan sped his walking and kept looking left and right.

There they are.

He waved to Micheal who spotted him first and then scurried over to their side, leaving Kazuo and Jiryu ask oneself if they should hurry too.

"H-hi," Rehan bent down to catch his breath then straightened up, shaking   everyone's hand except Zen and Cicero who were sleeping on the bench, Cicero dozing off on the red head's lap.

"Why are you staying at the park?" Rehan looked between them.

"We called an ambulance for the school, but some weird stuff happened," Micheal sighed.

"What?" Rehan asked, Kazuo and Jiryu finally finding him and joining the others.

"Hello! I'm Jiryu, Rehan's cousin," Jiryu greeted and shook everyone's hand, repeating Rehan's previous actions.
