•this is for hawks' birthday because i love him a lot. i hope you all enjoy it! i don't really have anything to say, but i hope you all had a great christmas! i ended up getting a dabi and dinosaur plushie and i love them. what did y'all get for christmas? i'm curious:)

you were in the kitchen reading a cookbook. the kitchen was a mess, it looked like a battlefield. from the rush of christmas still fresh in the kitchen plus the newly made mess. it was terrible, absolutely horrible. your boyfriend, hawks, would also be home late from work. if he even gets off at all.

the reason you were working so hard was for him. it was always for him after christmas. today was special. you really hoped he'd get to come home. it was his birthday after all. you had his gifts wrapped, and unfortunately you hadn't baked the cake yet.

you were never the best at baking. not at all. it was almost a chore to get all the ingredients correctly measured out. let's just say, you've been working on this cake for the past three hours. the time was currently four forty and hawks would normally get off at five. so you barely had time left to get this cake done.

time flew by as you carefully put the cake together and shove it into the oven. it was after five thirty before it was in its tin.

"hawks hasn't came home yet, that's good." you sighed out in relief.

you started to clean the kitchen as the cake baked in the oven. the smell wasn't bad at all, and it moved through the apartment. you washed the dishes and wiped down wherever you got flour and cake batter. around five fifty-seven, the cake was done and on a cooling rack.

hawks hasn't come home yet, and you began to worry. what if he wasn't coming home tonight? was he pulling overtime again? you began to ice the cake around six twenty when it had cooled. you put on the candles and sprinkled on some pretty looking sprinkles. you grabbed a small icing bag and wrote out in icing, 'happy birthday keigo' with a small wing at the end of his name. the cake was pretty and you were proud with the outcome.

the smell of the cake had left the apartment by the time seven o'clock sharp rolled around. hawks still hadn't came home, and you were on the couch watching a show. the familiar sound of the door-lock being disarmed was heard from the living room.

"i'm back y/n..." hawks sounded tired as he took his shoes off at the door.

he kicked his boots from his tired feet as he trudged his way to the couch. taking his hero costume off as he made his way over to you. "hey keigo! how was work?" you asked cheerfully as he laid down next to you and snaked his arms around you. "tiring..." the blonde sighed out as you played with his hair.

"get up and come into the kitchen. close your eyes though, it's a surprise." you smiled as he looked up at you. "surprise..?" he groggily asked as you nodded. once he finally got up and closed his eyes, you led him to the kitchen island and sat him down in the bar stool.

"okay! open your eyes." the lights were off and the candles were lit on the cake. you sang happy birthday to keigo as he just stared at the cake in awe. "you remembered?" he asked as you kissed his cheek. "of course! how could i forget such an important day?" you walked off and brought back a few gifts you had wrapped. the blonde haired, red winged, man had tears in his eyes as you smiled to him.

"i love you baby bird..." he sobbed out as you rubbed circles into his back as he hugged your waist. "i love you too keigo. let's eat some cake, yeah?" the rest of the evening was spent with you giving keigo snuggles and him just being a soft boy enjoying your company on his birthday.
