A.N. Sorry for the unedited chapter :)) Please read the author's note at the end :))

LHY's POV

"I'm sorry," the text read.

Relief swarms me and tears pooled my eyes as I reread the message from Kaye--once, twice, till I lost count. I shakily hovered my finger over the call button, contemplating on calling her or not.

I just finished lunch with Bang PDnim and I'm now on my way back to the stadium. I just remembered the forgotten text message I received during my session with the group earlier and decided to check it now.

It is definitely not what I expected.

I hesitantly tapped the button and directed my phone to my ear, breathing in and out to stop the tears from coming.

"Is everything fine Haeyoung-ssi?" Sijoon asked while looking at me at the rear view mirror.

I gave him a small smile and nodded reassuringly, turning back to my phone after.

It must be close to a month, or maybe even more, since my last interaction with Kaye. I gave her the space she needed, but I still didn't think it would take this long for her to forgive me--if she had already forgiven me, considering her message.

Although it seems like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I felt more disappointed that it took her this long to talk to me about it. I mean, she, above all people, should understand my position--how I can't tell anyone about my job because of the contract I signed--since she's under an entertainment company herself.

But I somewhat understand where she is coming from, especially since I know her past experiences with friends keeping secrets from her. Though, I still hoped that she had understood my situation as well before reacting and causing a distance between our friendship.

I did want to tell her despite of the contract. I knew she wasn't going to tell anyone anyway but I couldn't take such risks with the company that requires a lot of trust and privacy.

At least we're going to be okay now.

My heartbeat picked up as I heard the sound that indicated she picked up my call.

"Hello?" I hear her faint voice say.

I let another shaky breath out before replying, "hey Kaye."

I know I shouldn't be this nervous to talk to her but this had been the longest break we had with each other.

"Hae?" I hear her say in relief. "I'm so so sorry," she hiccuped. "I overreacted a-and I should've been more understanding, and I-"

"It's okay, Kaye," I smiled subconsciously, a single tear falling down my cheek. "We had our own faults and I forgive you for it, as long as you forgive mine?" I offered.

She is still my best friend after all. Although we had our differences, I couldn't just leave our past and friendship behind. She is the closest thing I had to a family before I met the other people I now have in my life.

She sniffed, "you're too good for me, Hae," I silently laughed at that. "Though I really am sorry for reacting without thinking. I just," she sighed before continuing, "I lost my mind when I found out Junggi knew before me and I thought you really wanted to keep it a secret from me. But I now know that he is also a part of BigHit and found out in accident. I felt really bad when I discovered the NDA you had to sign and all the crap you had to go through. Speaking of which, those cold-hearted haters and sasaengs-"
