LHY'S POV
After a small coughing fit, I cleared my throat once more. I looked at him and waited for some sign that he's just joking. But apparently, he's not.
"Really Oppa? Are you sure you want me to sing with you?" I exclaimed.
Well, I tried to but ended up sounding like a witch.
Here we go again. I thought we talked about this and you already gained confidence? Did a small headache made you lose your memory, Hae? Man up!
OKAY! I'm just nervous about it and he just asked it out of the blue. I would definitely want to do it, I mean who wouldn't?
"I mean, I would love to." I added. "But are you really sure?"
I just have to make sure he's not bluffing okay? What if he was supposed to ask this to a different person and it just popped up in his head?
His hearty laugh filled my ears. "I'm really sure. You were actually the first person I had in mind when I thought of releasing this song as a duet." He casually ran a hand through his hair and fixed his mask.
My eyes widened at what he said. "Wow. Thank you so much, Oppa. I promise I won't let you down."
"I know you won't. I picked you didn't I?" He smiled.
If he believes that I could do it, then I'll believe in myself too. That single sentence gave me a huge boost of confidence. I might have a sore throat now, but I will do everything in the next few days for my vocal chords to be at it's best. I will not mess this up.
I smiled widely at him and continued to eat.
"Oh," he started, leaning closer to me. "Can you also keep it a secret? I know you wouldn't tell anybody but I had to remind you."
This close proximity is starting to make me feel super hot but I'll just blame that on my headache.
Good idea.
"O-of course." I breathed out.
He stayed like that for what seemed like hours, his eyes staring endlessly into mine. After an eternity, he widened his eyes in realization and leaning back to his original position, acting like nothing happened. How can he be so relaxed while I was about to have a nervous breakdown?
Trying to slow down my rapidly beating heart, "When will we be recording it?" I slowly asked.
"Next week maybe? Or till your throat gets better." He smiled through his mask, his eyes pressed in a thin line.
He looks so cute.
Does he ever get tired from smiling so much?
"Okay." I smiled nervously.
I tried to act cool by drinking and eating but I ended up almost choking again.
What a great way to embarrass yourself, Hae.
Jimin oppa asked me if i was okay but i dismissed him by waving my hand. Downing the rest of my drink, I paid attention to the idol in front of me and pulled up my mask. My breaths became short. I could hardly talk in these things, let alone breathe. How cool of me to react like this in a casual conversation with my idol friend—not.
"Did you get any rest?" He suddenly asked.
Do I really look that tired? It's my first time to not get an ounce sleep and I guess it really showed. Well, I must've looked exactly like how I was feeling right now.
Blinking my eyes a couple of times, I looked down and fiddled with my drink. "Um, no. I filmed my covers for Wednesday last night and I had to watch Kaye earlier so I didn't sleep." My throat felt hoarse as I finished.
