January 31, New York
Santana smiled. Graduation. A time for gratitude and celebration. Her grandmother couldn't make it to her graduation but she didn't mind. She had Blaine, and her friends there. And that's all that mattered. Blaine had just gotten back from the funeral in Chicago just a day or two ago just in time for Santana's graduation ceremony from business college.
She was excited, she had a new job lined up, and she knew she wanted to own her own business eventually but she needed to get some experience before she ever did that. Maybe two years or three or more. She didn't know. Not yet. But she needed time to process this. Her life and her goals. And what the future with Brittany held. She turned to look at herself in the mirror admiring her long black wavy hair flowing over her shoulders, and down her back.
She looked at the graduation gown she was wearing. The cap and gown on her head. She turned around grinning at her best friend she had noticed in the mirror.
"Hey!" Santana said grinning a huge smile at him.
Blaine stepped forward smiling back at her. "Hey!" He stood right in front of her. "How are you? Feeing nervous?"
Santana rolled her eyes. "No! Not until you came waltzing in here and asked if I was nervous!!"
Blaine laughed nudging her shoulder. "You'll be great out their. I know it and you know it." He put a hand on her shoulder. "Just don't trip over your own two feet."
"Oh my god! Blaine!" Santana screeched. "I hate you so much!"
"Nope. You love me because I'm your best friend!"
"Yeah yeah whatever."
"Santana?"
"Yes?"
"I'm really proud of you, for graduating college and starting to live your life with Brittany."
"Oh come on!" Santana smiled a tear slipping down her cheek as she pulled her best friend and roommate into a tight hug which he returned. "But thank you."
"Of course." Blaine whispered squeezing her a little tighter.
"Are you going to call him?"
"What? Who?"
"Oh come on! I'm not stupid. I know you haven't called him or see him or even talked too him since the beginning of January! It's the end of January almost a month!" Santana said pulling away from him.
"I'm sorry!! I just can't okay?"
"Oops." Santana said biting her lip. "Because I invited them to my graduation!"
"You did what?" Blaine shrieked.
"Just too this part today I promise not the party tomorrow night!"
"God, Santana! I told you to stop meddling with my love life!"
"I'm your best friend practically your sister of course I'm going to meddle in your love life! It's kind of my job you know?"
"Fine whatever."
Santana huffed. "You are impossible to work with, you know that right?"
"I know." Blaine said smug.
"Knock knock..."
"Brittany!!" Santana grinned.
"And that's my cue to leave." Blaine announced. "I'll see you at the venue, don't be late!"
"I won't be!!"
Blaine chuckled leaving the two of them alone. He figured he would get himself a coffee before the ceremony that started at two-thirty, in only 45 minutes. He was impressed that he even remembered the time correctly.
