Chapter Nine.
Once Zee & Xavi had finished a good amount of research and note taking, it was 7:20. Xavia decided that it was best they wrapped things up since her grandmother usually got home around 7:45.
She was trying to avoid having to introduce Zealand to her Nana due to the fact that Rose would probably interrogate the poor boy to death, even though Xavia had already explained that he was just her classmate.
"Come on lil' mama." Zealand said to Harmony as both he and Xavi entered the living room. "Xavia is taking us home."
Harmony got up off of the couch, grabbing her Hello Kitty backpack and throwing it over one shoulder.
Xavia went in the kitchen, grabbing Zealand's plate that was covered in foil. She walked back out into the living room, handing it to him. "You almost forgot your food."
"My bad, thanks for grabbing it for me." He stated, taking the plate from her.
"No problem."
Xavia grabbed her keys, twirling them around her index finger. "Y'all ready?" She asked.
Both Zealand & Harmony nodded, before following behind Xavia as she walked towards the front door.
She unlocked it, then twisted the handle and pulled the door open. It was already dark outside, so she made sure to flip the switch on the wall to turn the porch light on so that they could see better.
All three exited the house, and Xavia made sure to lock the door behind them. She pressed the unlock button on her car remote, then walked towards the driver's side.
Xavia got in her car, then Zealand and Harmony did as well. Zealand slid in the passengers seat, while Harmony got in the back and strapped herself in.
"What's your address?" Xavi asked, going to the maps app on her phone.
"2303 Moss Lane."
She typed the address in, seeing that it was 15 minutes away. Xavia put on her seatbelt before clicking the green Start Route button.
"Starting route to 2303 Moss Lane. Please make a left turn at the stop sign." The navigation system spoke as Xavia backed out of her driveway.
As her phone navigated her to Zealand's home, she decided to turn on some music so that it wouldn't be dead silent in the car. The volume was only turned up just a tad so that she could still hear the directions.
"You mind if I eat this right now?" Zealand asked, referring to the food. Xavia chuckled, "It's not even warmed up."
He shrugged, " I don't even care at this point. I'm starving."
"Knock yourself out."
Zealand took the foil off of the food, grabbed the plastic fork and began to dig in. He might've been slim, but he loved to eat.
Fifteen minutes later, they were pulling up to the Carter household. Their home was small and basic, nothing too fancy or eye catching about it. Zealand didn't see his father's white truck, which indicated that he wasn't home yet. He was honestly relieved.
"Thanks again Xavia. I really appreciate it." Zealand said as he took off his seatbelt.
"Stop thanking me." She chuckled, "You've said it a thousand times."
