Chapter Forty.
"Where is my daughter! Oh my God, Niecey are you okay?" Mrs.Fields asked as she stormed into the hospital room.
"I'm alright, ma. I'm just sore and weak." Arnecia told her mother, looking over at her. Mrs.Fields, then abruptly smacked her daughter across the face, causing her to gasp. She then held her cheek as tears began rising to the brim of her eyes.
"How dare you not tell me that you're pregnant, Arnecia! Are you serious right now? How could you even let this happen! Malachi is the last person-"
"Ma, he raped me!" Niecey interrupted, which silenced her estranged mother.
"What did you just say?"
"Malachi raped me, okay?!" She sniffled.
Luna sighed, adjusting the glasses on her face. "What happened?" She asked after taking a deep breath.
"H-he came over one day while you and daddy were at work, and he asked could he come in so we could talk and I agreed. He started apologizing to me and pouring his heart out to me and asked if he could "make it up" to me. From there, he started touching and rubbing on me. I told him that I refused to have sex with him, but he wouldn't listen. I tried to get him to leave but he continued to touch on me inappropriately. I ended up slapping him which made him angry, so he began forcing himself on me." Niecey explained. "I screamed so loud, hoping that somebody would hear. A neighbor, a stranger, anybody. In my head, I prayed that you or daddy would come home and save me, but it was no use. He took advantage of me and there was nothing I could do."
Arnecia looked up and saw that her mother was in tears. "Baby, I am so sorry." She said in between sobs, pulling her daughter into a hug and kissing her hair. "Please forgive me. Forgive your momma." Luna cried, holding her only daughter tightly.
A knock on the door caught both of their attention. "Come in." Niecey said, voice slightly raspy.
In came a tall, middle aged white man. "Hello there, I'm Dr.Newton. It's nice to meet you both." He spoke, pumping hand sanitizer in his hands before rubbing them together.
"Hi, nice to meet you." They both spoke.
"So, fortunately everything looks good. Blood and urine are great, x-rays are fine, and you don't have any type of head trauma or things of that nature." Dr.Newton said.
"What about my baby?" Arnecia asked, placing her hand on her stomach.
"Your baby is just fine, Ms.Fields."
"Whew, thank you Lord." Niecey's mother mumbled, letting out a breath of relief.
"Since we don't see the need to write you a prescription for anything, you can take over the counter Acetaminophen for any pain you may have. It's completely safe for expecting mothers. As far as those bruises, they're gonna have to clear up on their own. Apply cold compression to them daily and you'll be good to go. Sound like a plan?"
"Yes, thank you doctor." Niecey said, nodding.
"No problem. Let me get those discharge papers ready for you and then you're free to go home."
Once he left out of the room, Arnecia looked over at her mother. "Ma.."
"Hm?"
"I'm scared to tell daddy." She mumbled.
"Don't worry about that right now. We'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Meanwhile, there was a warrant out for Malachi's arrest and a high speed chase going on. The Marshall's told the police that Malachi was most likely in a blue 2015 Kia Forte. An officer that was off duty at the time spotted him merging onto the highway, and alerted other officers of his whereabouts.
