Chapter Twenty Seven.
Around 2:30am, Xavia found herself opening her bedroom window so that Zealand and Harmony could come in. When she received the call from Zee, she wasn't going to pick up but something in her spirit told her that it was important.
"Shhh." She told them. Zealand helped Harmony go through the window first, before jumping inside himself.
"Xavi." Harmony quietly said as threw her arms around her, hugging her tightly. Right now, all she wanted was comfort. Xavia rubbed her back, making sure to hold her just as tight.
"You okay baby?" Xavia whispered, noticing that the nine year old was shaking. Harmony said nothing, she just buried her face in Xavi's shirt. Zealand stood off to the side, head low as he stared at the ground. He was in deep thought.
After a while Harmony let her go. Xavi cut her lamp on that was located on her nightstand, and gasped when she saw Zealand. He was bloody, and looked weak. His face was bruised up and his lip was busted. He had purple marks on his neck from Eddie choking him so hard. Zealand's left eye was almost swollen shut.
"What happened?" Xavia asked. When they were talking on the phone, Zee wouldn't give her any details. All he kept saying was that he needed her. She knew that he was being genuine, though. It was evident in his voice.
"It's been a long ass night." He said lowly, before letting out a sigh.
Xavia looked back and forth at both of them. They looked so distraught, especially Zealand. She could tell that whatever happened was something traumatic.
"Harmony, come with me pooh. I'm gonna get you something to change into." She said, holding out her hand. Xavia opened her bedroom door and quietly led the nine year old down the hall to the guest bedroom.
Once she turned on the light, she moved aside so that Harmony could walk in and then closed the door.
Xavi went over the the dresser drawer that's as in the room, and opened one of the drawers. She pulled out a big shirt and handed it to Harmony.
"I hope you're okay with wearing this. It might be a little big on you but it'll be comfortable." She told her.
"Thank you, Xavi. Can you help me?" She asked, and Xavia nodded. Harmony lifted her arms up, and Xavi carefully pulled up her nightgown. Once it was off, she placed the big t-shirt on her.
It indeed fit big, stopping at Harmony's ankles. In a way, it was kind of like another nightgown.
"Could I sleep in here? I like this bed! It reminds me of a princess." Harmony asked. The bed was nicely sized, and had a pink canopy with flowers over it. It belonged to Xena when she was a little girl.
"Would you be okay with sleeping in here by yourself?" Xavi asked. She didn't want her to feel alone or scared.
"Yes, I promise." The nine year old reassured her.
"Well, okay." Xavia agreed. She went over to the bed and pulled back the covers. Harmony followed behind her, then hopped into the bed. Xavia placed the warm covers over her small body, leaving just enough room for her to leave her arms out in case she got hot.
"Comfortable?" She asked, and Harmony nodded.
"Good. Listen, I don't know what went down tonight but I don't want you to think about it, okay? Get some rest and have sweet dreams." Xavia told her.
"Okay, Xavi. I'll try."
Xavia rubbed her thumbs over Harmony's eyebrows. Rose used to do that to her when she was a kid, and it would instantly relax her. As she did it to Harmony, her eyes started to close and she snuggled deeper under the covers.
