Chapter Fifty Eight.
May.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, if your last name starts with the letters A-C, please come to this table to get your cap and gown. If your last name starts with letters D-G, go to the second table. H-K, go to the third table. And so forth and so on." Principal Hayes said over the microphone as all of the seniors were in the auditorium.
Today, they'd be getting their caps and gowns and having the first graduation rehearsal out of three. Everybody went to the designated tables for their last name and stood in line.
"I can't believe we're about to graduate in two weeks." Xavia commented as she and Zee lined up.
"Right. It seems as though these past four years came and went in the blink of an eye."
"I agree. I feel like just yesterday, we were freshman."
They talked amongst themselves as they waited. Once they got their cap and gown, the two parted ways to go to the correct gender appropriate bathroom to change into them.
"Once you have your caps and gowns on, please come back out and look for your name on the chair. Your names will be in alphabetical order." Principal Hayes instructed into the mic once again.
All of the students did as instructed. When they had their attire on, they exited the restrooms and began finding their seats in the auditorium.
When everybody was seated, Hayes came back to the mic. "Alright, this is how things are going to go." She started off. " We're going to practice sitting down, lining up to walk the stage, actually walking on stage, and how to go back to your seat once you get your diploma. Got it?"
"Yes ma'am." All 377 senior students replied.
"Cool deal, let's get started."

An hour later, practice was over and everybody was back in class. Xavia yawned as she doodled in her notebook. Teachers were barely giving out work. There wasn't anything left to teach, so most of the class periods were being spent doing literally nothing.
Once the bell rung for lunch, Xavi grabbed her things and exited the class with no hesitation. At this point, she was over school. She was honestly just showing up for attendance purposes.
Heading down the stairs to go to the cafeteria, she felt a hand intertwine with hers. Knowing it was nobody but Zee, she looked up with a smile. Her smile then faded when she saw that it actually wasn't her boyfriend.
It was Bryson, the same football player who had told Zee that he and Xavia looked good the night of prom.
"Uh, excuse me?" She yanked her hand back and gave him the dirtiest look ever.
"My bad, didn't mean to startle you." He stated.
"It's not even about you startling me, it's the fact that you just grabbed my hand when you know I have a boyfriend." She told him.
"I was just trying to be nice, but fuck you since you wanna be rude. Big ass." He spat, walking off leaving Xavia in shock.
"What the-" She started off, before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. "You know what? Two more weeks. Only two more weeks." She said to herself.
Shaking her head, she continued to walk to the cafeteria. Luckily, she brung her own food because she was fed up with the school lunch. It was becoming repetitive.
Xavia entered the noisy space and found her usual table, then took a seat. She pulled a Subway sandwich, baked Lays, and a Sprite out of her backpack and sat the items on the table.
