01. A Call on Serene Night

'I'm home!' said Junghyun as soon as he opened the door.

'Oh, it's appa, Ayeon-ah!' Jihye walked towards the front door of their apartment with Ayeon.

Seeing her appa made the eleven months old toddler excited. She swung her chubby legs in her mother's embrace and smiled adorably.

'Aigooo, my princess just about to have a bath? Let's go! Appa will give you a bath, Ayeon-ah.'

After he gave her a bath Ayeon fell asleep immediately, so Junghyun put her on the crib and walked towards the dining room.

'Yeobo, did you buy Ayeon's favorite biscuits I asked before?' Jihye asked him while they having dinner together that evening.

'Yes, it's in my bag. Why? Did her second upper teeth already showing?'

Jihye nods her head, 'She's a little bit fussy today, and didn't want to take a nap this afternoon too.'

Both of them lounging in the living room after dinner when Junghyun suddenly remembers something, 'Oh, right. Today Bin will interview Yejin!' And Junghyun immediately grabs the remote control.

'What? They always butt heads! I'm sure the segment would be a total ruin.' It's a big surprise for Jihye because Bin and Yejin always argue like Tom and Jerry.

'One of them should end their career after this interview, right?' They both giggling thinking about how this interview will be turned out.

And there he is, Bin sat handsomely in his dark grey suit; greeting his audience. Then he introduced Yejin who wears a navy-blue midi dress as their guest that night.

'Good evening Ms. Son, a pleasure to meet you. And congratulations on your appointment as special advisor for the newly elected Mr. President.' Bin smiled towards Yejin.

'Pleasure to meet you too, Anchor Hyun. Thank you very much.' Yejin smiled sweetly.

'Aigoo, if they can do that on Ayeon's first birthday next month I would be really grateful.' Jihye said while watching Bin and Yejin on TV.

'Ms. Son, you're the youngest person Mr. President has ever appointed for a senior member of the Office of the President. And we both know many people questioning your capability, but how do you respond to this situation?' Bin asked his guest.

'Firstly, it's an honor for me to be able to serve as a special advisor for Mr. President at a relatively young age. And I'm really glad I was given this opportunity to make use of my knowledge and expertise. But I do realize that I need to put more effort into this. To gain public trust that I'm capable to hold this position.'

'Right, we know it's only been over a month since your appointment. But I'm sure the public would like to know your priority in this term of office. Do you have any certain priority, Ms. Son?'

'Based on Mr. President's instruction and as special advisor for foreign affairs, diplomacy, and national security, we'd like to focus not only on national security but also on our own people's security. We believe that human security such as protection of privacy, health insurance, and other protections possess urgency recently. Especially after the deep fake case that has been exposed last year.' Yejin answered Bin's question calmly with confidence.

'Who knows these two are each other's ex-lovers, gracious sakes.' Jihye shook her head.

But the interview surprisingly went really smoothly without any quarrel between them. They both speak professionally like they don't have any history before.

'Thank you, Ms. Son for your time. I hope you can come to our program in the near future.'
