Taking Ms. Choi's advice to put both Jihye and Junghyun's stuff in a better place before, they went to IKEA to buy some new things for their apartment that Sunday. From the new curtain, bed covers, and some photo frames, Yejin carefully chose it from the display.
They took one last look at Jihye and Junghyun stuff before putting it in the boxes. As soon as the boxes filled up, they could feel lightness in their heart. Both thinking that they should open it up from time to time, maybe when Ayeon is old enough to understand, they would definitely open those boxes again to tell her about Jihye and Junghyun.
It was finally felt like their home. Maybe, just maybe they will watch Ayeon grew up here. Or if their relationship goes well, they might decide to give Ayeon a little sister or brother. To build their little family in this house.
But as much as they didn't want the day to end, time surely flies when you're having fun.
Back to their daily routine on Monday, Yejin could feel the other side of the bed was empty when she woke up. Bin did tell her the night before that he will take Ayeon for a morning run.
The clock showed that it was already 7 in the morning, so she quickly went to the bathroom to wash her face before preparing breakfast.
Yejin would usually turn on the TV for the morning news as she cooks. So, when she heard that there has been a huge demonstration all across Seoul, she stopped copping the leeks and ran to the living room.
Focusing on what the reporter said, turned out that the demonstration demanded the government to revoke permits of North Korean defectors to enter South Korea. With the leak of the CCTV footage the other day and internet speculation of Lim Junseo being the mastermind of the bombing accident, the protesters felt like they have to do this. Him being a North Korean defector surely didn't do any good in the public eyes.
Her eyes were still on the screen when her phone was ringing. It was from one of the Blue House staff.
'I'm sorry for calling you this early Ms. Son, but Mr. President wants everyone to come to Blue House immediately. And We both know when he said immediately is basically right now, at the moment. So, you better hurry up, Ms. Son.'
Yejin turned off the stove before ran to her bedroom like a flash. She changed into a light blue shirt with a white double-breasted blazer and putting on some considerate amount of makeup to make her look presentable.
Not even 10 minutes after that, she was already on her way to Blue House with her car. And as soon as she arrived, Yejin could feel the tension already.
Some of the chairs in the main meeting room were still empty, but the look at Mr. Ma's face says it all. The President sat still with tightness in his eyes and flatten lips. Even the chief of staff didn't say anything that morning. Like everyone else in the room, he stayed in silence while he lowered down his head.
The silence continued for another 10 minutes until everyone presents in the meeting room. And the first thing Mr. Ma said was, 'The demand clearly said that they won't stop until we revoke permits of the North defectors to enter South. And the online petition has reached 15.000 signatures a few minutes ago. I believe we should approve their demand for now.'
If that's what happens next, it will go as Kim Jaewook and Elly Yoo's plan. But how I can reassure everyone? Even if I gave them the ledger, there is too much name on it, Yejin thought to herself.
The ledger was indeed had so many names on it. From assemblyman and assemblywoman like Kim Jaewook to many familiar names from Seoul Central District Prosecutors. With that situation, it convinced Yejin that everyone won't stay still if the ledger was leaked to the public. And there are high possibilities that they will escape the charges. So, she needs stronger proof.
