12. An Item?

The next morning, Bin woke up to the sound from the baby monitor. Looks like little Ayeon already woke up.

His eyes glanced at the window and he could see that the sun hadn't even risen yet. Didn't want to wake Yejin up, Bin kissed the top of her head lightly before putting on a T-shirt and went to Ayeon's nursery room.

'Did you sleep well, uri gongjunim?' Ayeon responds to him with a toothy grin, which made Bin laughed at his cute daughter while he brushed up her long wavy hair which previously covering her small face.

Bin reached out his arms for her, but Ayeon shook her head, 'You don't want to go to the living room, no?'

Her itty-bitty hands started moving in the air, 'Appa!'

Knowing that it was a cue to her favorite song Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Bin started to sing it for her. Of course, only to see Ayeon about to cry while tears were forming in her eyes.

Half laughing after seeing her reaction, Bin assured her that he won't sing it, 'Arraseo, you hate it when I sing for you. Wait for a second, it must be around here.' He finally found the toy where you easily could hear the song by pressing the button.

As Ayeon excitedly moving her hands in the air; imitating a sparkling star, Bin smiled like a fool at her cuteness. Once again, just like a daughter-fool.

They finally walking towards the living room with Bin holding Ayeon in his arms, 'Did you have fun with halmoni and halabeoji yesterday? What animals did you see yesterday, Ayeon-ah?'

'Giraffes!' She said it with a high-pitched tone.

'Did you see anything else?' Bin opened the picture book for her. When she saw the picture of an elephant, she pointed out her finger to it but her eyes were on Bin; asking him how to call it.

He patiently answered her, 'It's an elephant. Elephant.' Ayeon tried to copied Bin with her babbling sound afterward. It's been two days since the last time Bin saw his daughter, so it was nice to catch up like this.

They played with the picture book for a moment before Bin asked her, 'Wanna take a morning run with appa?' As he saw her shook her head like before, they finally sat down on the sofa. Watching the TV until fell asleep once again.

Yejin could feel the other side of the bed was empty as soon as she woke up, but memories from last night couldn't stop her from smiling. Even the scenery from the window seems better today.

She thought Bin brought Ayeon for a morning run, so it surprised her when she saw both Ayeon and Bin sleeping on the sofa. Bin laying on his back, while Ayeon sticks to her dad like a koala on his chest.

Putting a blanket over them, couldn't contain her grin as her heart filled with warmth.

It was almost nine in the morning when Bin and Ayeon woke up. Turned out his little sister, Soojung stopped by to join them for breakfast that Saturday morning.

While Yejin takes a seat beside him, she told Bin about the CPS visitation. 'Ms. Jiwoo called earlier, Bin. She said she'll be here this afternoon.'

'Afternoon?' He turned his head towards her after putting Ayeon in her seat.

'Yes, she'll be here in two hours. Luckily Soojung brought all of this for us, so I don't need to cook this morning,' Yejin thanked Soojung who seat across her afterward. 'Gomawo, Soojung-ah. Let's eat like this every once in a while.'

'Absolutely Eonni, I would like to spend more time with Ayeon-ie too. Is it good, Ayeon-ah?' Soojung made the kalguksu, especially for Ayeon.
