It was almost lunchtime when he remembers how awkward this morning was. After what happened the other night, they seem not really know what to say to each other. And Yejin even barely said goodbye to him this morning.
An incoming call from Mrs. Son snapped Bin out of his mind. As he answered the phone, he could hear Ayeon was gurgling from the line.
'Did you have your lunch, Bin-ah?' Mrs. Son asked him.
'Yes, eomonim. I was just about head downstairs to eat lunch.'
'Ayeon kept saying appa appa until now. Do you have some time for a video call, Bin-ah?'
He was staring to the distance without blinking as he heard this. And a smile crept up from the corner of his lips before he answered 'Ah, yes of course.'
Bin never considered fatherhood suited him. Even during his previous marriage, he never really eager to have kids. The responsibility sometimes terrifies him.
What if he cannot give all the love and needs of his child?
What if he becomes a bad parent because of it?
Those thoughts made Bin rather chose not to have kids before. But apparently, fatherhood seems really suited him. It hasn't been that long as he and Yejin took care of Ayeon, but he never felt this abundant of love towards someone who's not a lover to him. And it amazed him how he's willing to do anything just to see Ayeon's smile.
Bin looked around and instantly went to an empty meeting room to receive the video call. As soon as she saw her father on the screen, the little girl called him in excitement. 'Appa!'
He could see Ayeon sat on the chair in the dining room, where she would usually eat. And smears of dark purple can be seen all over her face. Bin thought that it must be from the blueberries Yejin bought for Ayeon. She is indeed a good eater just like Yejin is.
'Did you enjoy your lunch, Ayeon gongjunim (princess Ayeon)?' Even if someone heard this, no one would ever believe this kind of tone could leave his mouth. A high pitch tone with exaggerated expressions. This was very different from Bin who doesn't really show his emotion at work and act in a more formal way to his co-workers.
Ayeon answered him with her baby talk and Bin respond to her patiently with a laugh or even imitating her.
After the video call has ended, Bin smiled at his phone like a fool. Surely like a daughter-fool.
He walked towards the door with a smile still engraved on his face when his hoobae Kang Minhyuk suddenly appears out of nowhere. 'Sunbae! I didn't know you can be this sweet!' Minhyuk clapped his hands while shook his head in disbelief.
'You scared the hell out of me! Since when you've been here?'
'I was looking for my pen when I heard someone entered the room. And I wanted to greet you, Sunbae. But I didn't want to interrupt your adorable video call with your daughter.' Minhyuk giggled at how sweet Bin was to Ayeon. 'You didn't invite me to your second wedding, Sunbae? Whoa, I thought I'm your favorite hoobae here.' Minhyuk made up a hurtful expression.
'Hya, it's not like that. And don't tell anyone about this or I'll move you to the entertainment department.'
'You back to your usual self already. Let's grab lunch downstairs, sunbaenim.'

Yejin was home early that evening, so she decided to cook dinner a little bit early that day. Bin who came home a little bit later, help her prepare the ingredients as he watched Ayeon who sat in her baby chair; playing with the picture book and her banana teething toy.
