"What about that one, Y/N? He looks hot," my friend said and pointed at a tall, handsome man. He had black hair and tattoos all over his arms and one on his neck. Batman?
For a brief moment, he looked in our direction, offered a charismatic smile and winked. "Nah, he's not really my type."
"What? Haven't you seen that smile?" Sophie looked at me like I just lost my sanity. As if I ever had one. Of course, he was hot as fuck but to be honest, that intimidated me quite a bit.
I giggled and took another sip of my drink. She had dragged me outside to a bar, claiming that I needed a man in my life or at least to stare at a few. We were currently at the staring-stage of the evening. Though I doubted that we would go any further but Sophie was determined. "Oh, I did but no thanks."
She huffed at me and crossed her arms though I could see the tug of a exasperated smile in the corner of her mouth. Sophie knew that she couldn't convince me once I had set my mind. I was pretty stubborn to say the least.
"Whatever. Wanna dance?"
"Is that a real question?"
We jumped around more or less in rhythm to the loud music and had the time of our lives. Probably the multicoloured drinks had their fair share in that but hey, who cared? I was only slightly tipsy but Sophie was drunk already. And because I knew that she had to get to work tomorrow, I convinced her to go home and sleep it off. What a good friend I was.
She complied surprisingly fast and took a taxi while I stayed for a little longer. I had a day off and didn't want to go back to an empty house yet. Wouldn't hurt to look around, and the music was good.
Back at the bar, I ordered another drink and watched the people on the dancefloor. There was this one guy who looked like he had one too much and now made his way over to the stool next to me. He was taller than me and fairly skinny. He probably didn't even had that much and just underestimated his tolerance level compared to his body weight.
And I was overanalyzing again. The man wiped the blond strands of hair out of his face, damaging his fragile balance even more.
He slumbed down on the bar stool next to me, cursing under his breath and tried to order another drink. His words were slurred but still understandable though he probably shouldn't drink anymore.
"Sorry buddy but you had enough." The barkeeper shrugged and turned back around.
To that he didn't even protest and just put his head down on the counter with a loud sigh. I couldn't help but giggle.
"A water please," I ordered and then put it in front of the man. There was no one in sight who seemed to be looking out for him and I felt sorry for him because he looked lonely right now.
I tapped his arm gently, making him look up confused. Oh wow, his face was closer than I thought it would be. And I was definitely tipsy too, otherwise this wouldn't have made my face heat up. Strange. "Huh?"
I giggled at the almost childlike confusion written all over his face. "Drink some water."
Drunk guy shrugged, taking the glass I slithered over to him. While he drank it slowly, we stayed silent. It wasn't exactly a bad silence and he didn't seem to be focused at all and tapped a rhythm against his glass.
So naturally, I stared discreetly at him. Though his hair was bleached, it looked so soft and I caught myself wishing to touch it. Woah, calm down there, you just met him. Though he was kind of cute. But as he stared at the wall, his face had something melancholic. Why? Was he thinking of someone?
Eventually, the silence began to feel awkward. I kept glancing over to the man and caught him looking at me too. Well, now I had to say something. So I giggled. "So what's your name?"
