Harry made it to the platform at ten fourty five, in time to leisurely board the train. He was clad in tailored charcoal grey trousers, held in place by a brown leather belt to match is dress shoes. On his upper half he wore a white button down shirt with a cashmere v neck sweater on top. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing the small wand tattoo on his inner wrist.

"You ready, mate?" Ron asked, checking if Harry was still alright, he was.

"Of course." He said turning his back to the train to face the older members of the Weasley family who wouldn't be going with them. "Goodbye, Mrs. Weasley." He remarked, opening his arms for a hug.

"Goodbye, Harry dear." She said, excepting his gesture. He had grown a bit taller and now Molly wasn't able to rest her head on his shoulder. It was momentarily strange but Harry quickly adjusted himself to acomadate her smaller stature. "You've become a fine young man, you know." She said in a low tone, so only he could hear. They pulled away soon after and she only smiled warmly.

"Mr. Weasley, George." He said with a kind smile, nodding at them both.

"It's been good to see you, Harry, promise you won't forget us?" Arthur said, returning the smile.

"I could never." He said, chuckling breathlesy, "You're family."

"I'm glad." George said, smiling and nodding his head once, "'fraid you've made quite the imprint in our lives." He remarked, matching Harry's breathless chuckle.

"We'll be sure to drag him back." Ginny said from behind him, observing the situation with Ron and Hermione.

"'Suppose we should be going now, huh." Harry asked, it was a rhetorical question. He knew the train left at eleven and it was ten of.

"Goodbye, mum." Ron said, stepping into his mothers arms. He then moved to say his farewells to George and Arthur. This continued through the rest that were departing and before they knew it, they were walking onto the train for the final time.

"I'm going to find my friends, see you at the feast?" Ginny asked, already backing away.

"I don't know how McGonagalls decided to accomadate the eighth years but I'm sure we will see you eventually." Hermione said, mentally going through all of the possible arrangements. "Bye, Ginny." And just like that she disapeared into the crowd.

"Well, we best move quickly then, that is, if we don't mind sharing." She said, glancing between the two of them, knowing what she was doing.

"Come on then!" Ron half yelled racing to the nearest carriage. The two remain friends giggled and began to drag their trunks along.

They settled in a compartment not far from the end of the train in hopes to escape as much attention as possible.

"Y'know, hiding in the back of the train to avoid attention is kind of a futile effort when you're the fittest bloke on the platform, right?" Ron said, breaking down into a fit of laughter and clenching his stomach. "I'm not lying though, mate." He added, still laughing.

"He's not wrong Harry, your new look did draw quite the amount of attention, the muscles and the new frames." She said, adressig the thin gold frames with a slightly different shape.

"I di-" but he was interrupted by a light rapping on the door of their closed compartment with curtains drawn. Harry, closest to the door, drew back the curtains and opened the door. It was a group of girls who looked to be in sixth year.

"This ought to be fun." Ron said under his breath to a smirking Hermione.

"Hi Harryyy." The group said in synchronization. Ron rolled his eyes while Hermione tried to hide her giggling. Harry, ever the polite young man, greeted them respectfully, despite his annoyance.

"Hello ladies, what can I do for you?" He asked, looking about the group. It was made up of a Hufflepuff, a Ravenclaw, two Gryffindors, and a Slytherin.

The group just broke into a fit of giggles until one girl, the Slytherin, spoke out.

"We just had to see if the rumors are true, which they are." She said excitedly, smirking at her friends.

"And what are these rumors that you speak of?" Harry asked, calm and politely, of course.

"That you got all buff and even more handsome over the summer!" One of the Gryffindors giggled, causing the rest of the group to react similarly. Harry looked shocked and embarrassed at the attention.

"And now we can confirm!" The Ravenclaw girl said in a slightly elevated tone to be heard over the giggles. He blushed.

"Okay, that's enough, go back to your compartments." Ron said getting up and shutting the door. "Every the polite Harry Potter, you need to learn to say no, mate." Ron chuckled. He knew he was right but he also didn't want to come off as a huge prick.

"I know, Ron." He sighed. "At least Hermione is getting some humor out of it." He said gesturing to the doubled over witch beside him.

"They were ogling over you! It was bloody hilarious!" She exclaimed, finding it extremely amusing that he was going to be stalked through the year.

"They're going to follow you around the halls, cling to you at meals,
maybe I should be laughing too!" Ron said begining to chuckle breathlessly. "At least you'll have your pick of the litter, Harry." He said, laughing more at the thought of his best mate with a new girlfriend each week.

"Too bad I don't like girls." He said, scoffing. The entire compartment went silent, all the laughing transfigured to blunt seriousness. "Shit."

"What?" Ron said, surprise evident on his face. Hermione nudged him in the arm, despite her own curiosity.

"I'm gay." He said waiting for the information to sink in before he continued. "I suppose its better you know now, so yeah, I'm gay." He said, appearing fairly confident.

"I can't say I'm too surprised, honestly." Hermione said, shrugging. "When you kissed Cho, it was ignited by her, and your short lived relationship with Ginny didn't seem very... intimate, per say."

"So you're ok with it?" He asked, shocked that it had gone over so well with at least one of them.

"Of course, Harry. Besides, me and Ron were going to have the same conversation with you today." She said, her smirk growing when the realization bloomed on Harry's face.

"You're gay Ron?" He said shocked. Hermione seemed like the type to be open to a relationship with both, but Ron confused him.

"Asexual and aromantic, actually. During my relationship with 'mione, I realized I only wanted her as a very close friend. Sex didn't sound good either." He said, finally breathing again after he saw Harry smile.

"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be." Hermione explained.

"Agreed" Harry and Ron said at the same time in response. The train had been going for a good twenty minutes, but they still had a long ways to go.

"I think I'm going to take a nap" Ron said, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against the glass. Hermione and to her astonishment, Harry, both grabbed books from their luggage and began to read. He noticed his friends shocked face and simply said, "It's a lot easier to retain information when you aren't sharing your mind." And with that the compartment settled into silence.
