McGonagall lead them through the corridors and up the moving staircases leading  to where they now stood - on the sixth floor staircase landing in front of a wall - She turned to adress the group, wand in hand.

"Now, to enter the eighth year dorms you will need to say an incantation and tap this brick with your wand." She said, pointing to a brick at the average eye level of the students among them. "Like so" She said, turning back to the wall "sanaberis tempore" She announced tapping the brick. The bricks then began to rearrange themselves until they formed an archway.

All the students stood in awe, their old commens not being as intricately opened. Upon looking inside you could tell that the eighth years colors were a rich forest green, darker than the Slytherin robes, and a warm gold. These colors appeared all over the apolstry, draperies, and decor. There was a large stone fireplace already blazing in the middle of the room, surrounded by dark green armchairs with gold tasseled pillows. The rugs were a pattern of climbing plants and gold chains. The main couch was L-shaped, similar in color to the armchairs, and decorated in gold pillows and throw blankets with the same patterns as the rugs. It was a very well coordinated room, making all the students excited to see the dorms.

"You will share a dorm room with only one other person, the number of said room and the name of said person is posted on two parchments, by gender, on the table in front of the larger sitting arrangement. I trust you to work everything out for yourselves, I will go over other permissions and rules tomorrow but for now, enjoy yourselves." She smiled, gestured to the open archway, and began down the stairs.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Questioned Seamus, making his way up the last few steps and ducking slightly through the new opening.

Slowly, the remaining students filed into the commons, still taking in their new environment.

The room was a large circle, the floors and walls all stone bricks. The fireplace was placed on the furthest back wall underneath the spiral staircase that covered the upward surfaces of the walls. Ironworked rails with ivory growing of it lined the walls around the common room, guiding people up to their dorms which were scattered about the different heights. The ceiling was very high and from it hung a series of iron chandeliers, also engrossed in plant life, at varying heights. There were no windows along the walls but the ceiling was intricately placed metal and glass, making it appear to be an obseveratory. The space was really quite beautiful.

"Wow." Hermione said as she looked around, noticing the bookshelves that surrounded the 'first floor' walls.

"I wonder if the plants are enchanted." Dean commented, curious as to how they were supposed to water the vines on the chandelier that seemingly had no roots.

"It's magnificent." Pansy breathed, looking around at the floating specs of light in the air.

"It really is." Harry said in awe, admiring the candle lit iron fixtures hanging from the metal work on the glass ceiling, noticing the sunflower yellow roses in the mix.

"I wonder what our animal is." Draco questioned, not noticing any creature on the rugs, non existent paintings, or carved into the candlesticks scattered about the tables in the space.

"By the looks of it we're just plants." Blaise laughed, gesturing to the rug's pattern.

Glancing about the room you could see that all the bookshelves, tables, furniture legs, and candlesticks were all stained a warm mahogany with a slightly yellow tint. Looking about the room, Ron noticed the coffee table sitting in front of the L shaped sofa with two parchments resting about the plants and candles.

"Lists are here." Ron said, pointing over to the lists. He walked over and glanced at the top of the boy's list. "Oh sweet, I get my own room!" He excitedly explained.

"No fair!" Parvati exclaimed, turning and complaining to her sister.

"I'll read the rest off, don't need people crowding around." She said, stepping away from the group and towards the parchments.

"Ok, girls first since there are fewer of us." She said picking up the sheet, and starting to read. "Padma and Parvati, which leaves me and Granger." She said, looking back up to see what Hermione thought of their living situation. She only smiled, and went back to conversing with Ron.

"Boys, we have Dean and Seamus-" She said, briefly looking up to see their reactions. They both had smiles on their faces similar to the rest of the night and continued to listen to the groups.

"Next, Blaise and Theodore-" She said, peering over the paper only momentarily to notice they were laughing and continued.

"And last put certainly not least, Draco and Harry." She said smirking, happy that the professors were encouraging 'interhouse friendships' which one peeking in could only assume would become more. Draco stood pale and began to shuffle even further toward the back of the group while Harry didn't seem fazed.

"And lucky Ronald gets his own private suite." Blaise said, chuckling briefly before turning to face the group standing amongst him.

"First name basis, huh?" Harry questioned playfully, lacking the venom it once had in earlier years over a rejected handshake.

"I don't see why not?" Pansy responded, now standing beside Draco and nudging him with her elbow. "Do you have any problems, Draco?" Pansy asked, smirking mischievously at Blaise who retured the expression.

"Not at all." He commented back, now directing his grin to Draco, who looked away.

"Very well then." Hermione said mellowly, making her way towards the couch. "Now that all the childish animosity has been extinguished, shall we play a little get to know you game?" She asked, seeming to catch Pansy and Blaise's drift without having a solid conversation on the thoughts behind the chuckles and the smirks.

"Might I suggest truth or dare?" Parvati said, holding up a small bottle with a dropper cap. "After all, we are still in school." She explained, shutting down the comments of it being too childish before they even began.

     "Lets."
