⚠️ DESCRIPTIVE SCENES INVOLVING SELF HATE, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF ⚠️
At school the next day she stood in the line at the cafeteria with Lydia, picking at a scab on her wrist where dream-her had been sliced with some kind of long sword while trying to protect a version of Isaac named Favian, who was being arrested to be executed.
The last thing she'd heard was him sobbing and screaming in an unbelievably guttural tone as she'd bled out right in front of him. Then she'd woken up with trembling, terrified shuddery breaths that she couldn't get under control no matter how long she'd tried.
Hayes had found her crying on the bathroom floor that morning with a towel pressed tightly over the quickly-healing wound on her wrist. But rather than accepting his help, she pushed him away and locked herself in her room until she wasn't certain she wouldn't get any blood anywhere visible.
Dani had ended up with a bandage around her wrist, and a long sleeved top with a shorter skirt than usual to make up for the minimal amount of skin she was showing. Even though Scott and Stiles had been waiting for them in the driveway again, she hadn't said a word to them and walked down the road to the bus stop.
She couldn't deal with them after that...loss.
At first she'd contemplated it, but the moment Scott had stared down at her wrist with furrowed brows and met her brothers worried faces, Dani knew she couldn't sit in a car with them.
Even though it had been three days, Stiles still hadn't run out of questions to ask her.
Why do you look so drained, Dani?
Are you dehydrated, Dani?
Have you been crying, Dani?
Why are you shaking bad, Dani?
Have you been sleeping okay, Dani?
She knew that he meant well, and wouldn't be asking if he wasn't worried, but all she wanted was to be left alone.
On top of all of his nerve-wracking questions that she had no good answers for, she couldn't stop thinking about Isaac either. Last night he'd told her that to him, her opinion mattered. She still didn't know why.
Isaac had been friends with Hayes since the sixth grade, and had barely had a full conversation with him put together, aside from the day he'd walked her back home. For the life of her, Dani couldn't figure out what she had done that both simultaneously earned his trust and respect, as both came with caring about someone's opinion.
So as she stood in the lunch line, her mind only half on the decision between gross salad and slightly more gross sandwiches, she didn't notice anything at all strange until Lydia's elbow buried itself in her ribs.
Immediately, Dani turned to look at her best friend with a vivid frown, but soon realized that her attention wasn't on her.
The girl walking into the cafeteria was relative tall and had long blonde curls cascading back between her shoulders. She wore a black leather skirt paired with a jacket to match, a top that displayed her cleavage nicely, and cheetah print high heels that showed off her stunning legs. Her lips were painted dark red and framed a set of white teeth.
It took her a moment to realize that she was Erica; the girl who'd had the seizure the previous day.
Dani couldn't help but notice how slender the girls body was, and how nicely the skirt she wore showed off her toned body as she took an apple off a boys tray and took a massive bite out of it, then smiled at him innocently while wiping her lip.
