it had been a whole year since Jimin had left the country and Ara hadn't heard of his whereabouts. Not like she cared anyway, she kept reminding herself that theres someone for her in this world. It was harder to believe at times than others but overall she was doing well. She hadn't visited the castle in forever because her parents locked her in and double guarded the place making it impossible for her to leave. The peaceful feeling she got and the inception moments that came as well were all but distant memory.
As for the princes, they made a good impression on the king. So well that the king invited them again this year for the same event held last year. Ara felt even more tired and unmotivated but she couldn't say anything. Out of fear that she'd be ridiculed for feeling that way, she had someone she could explain all her emotions freely too but that wasn't an option considering he wasn't allowed in her room.
She had gotten a message that Namjoon in the year since the entire event last year was now happily married and was expecting his first child soon. She was not very surprised when he announced the big news, in the short amount of time she knew him he had explained his love for babies and how he wanted to become a father. When Ara met his wife for the first time she knew why he picked her, she was an amazing person for him. The way he looked at her with such a love and passion amazed Ara. She glowed whenever she talked about the relationship she had with Kim Namjoon. They both held such a deep love for each other that it was indescribable. She was actually promised to be the Aunt to their child.
As for the other princes, she had stayed in touch with prince Jung Hoseok. His radiant personality was something that Ara enjoyed. They became really good friends, he came to visit the castle a few times in the last year and the adventures they had together were memorable. They established their relationship as just friends but of course they couldn't tell the king that. So they kept it between the two of them and continued being really good friends regardless of the King thinking she was dating him or not.
For the last six months, the princess had been locked in her own room. Only able to leave with someone watching her at all times. This made her uncomfortable and led her only to stay in her room unless if she had to leave.
It was now the week of the dance again this year and Ara was in the same spot as last year, picking out a dress as usual."I don't like that one." Ara denied trying to sound as nicely as possible. None of the dresses this year appealed to her and she had no energy to be a problem and have the maids try and find new dresses. It had been a few hours of this and not one dress had caught her attention. Ara soon got tired of looking at what looked like the worst dresses she had ever seen. They were all the same bland colors and revealed more than what Ara wanted. This made her really question how anyone could find her beautiful. Looking at the rest of the princesses in the other countries put her to shame. What she once found beautiful in herself was now put to shame.
"what about this one? It looks like one you'd like." a younger maid suggested holding the hanger above her head making sure that the dress didn't drag on the floor by how big it was compared to her stature.
"I choose that one." Ara smiled slightly earning some nods in unison from the maids before they began to gather the remainder of the dresses and walked out of her room leaving her alone with one maid who suggested the dress. She awkwardly stood holding the dress waiting for Ara to take it and try it on. Standing up, she took the hook and walked to her closet to try it on. In front of the mirror, she took more time to look at the dress in front of the mirror on her door.
The dress was a glittery sky blue with a thin veil like piece over the skirt, it started at the hem of the dress and went all the way to the ends of the dress. It was decorated with white lace flowers all over the ends of the dress as well as the upper portion of the dress. The dress flowed beautifully and it also had a small train of the blue fabric behind her. The dress looked like something out of a princess movie, where everything seemed perfect, a utopian feeling almost. She opened the door and walked out and felt as if she was walking on clouds the entire time. Standing in front of the maid, her face dropped as she took a few steps to the right and then to the left to take in every angle of the dress and how it looked like on her. The sun was setting and it made the dress somehow glow in the lighting.
"it looks absolutely ravishing on you!" the maid complimented excitedly covering her mouth with her hand.
i love it it's perfect.
