Ashlyn's P.O.V

I sat down in the chair next to Michael, the tips of my ears were very warm, most likely very red, thank god my hair covered it, can't really say that for my face though.

"So! Welcome to NYC High Ashlyn!" The principal cut though the awkward silence,"I'm Mr.Ginger, and I can see you two have already introduced yourselves, Michael will be your guide for today since he has only been here a few months and can relate to what you are going though!" Man is this person always this peppy?

"Um okay, so do you have my class schedule?" I asked, I was extremely nervous that he was going to tell me no and say that I should have it or something, but luckily he handed me a little half sheet of paper with my classes and times that they start and end. I apparently have all the same classes as the flame headed boy who was slouching in his chair.

The principal continued to run though rules and regulations of the school, I didn't like that they still had a gender role feel to the school, they had pink and blue lockers which I am dead sure that those are not the schools colors.

Once the principal stopped talking Michael and I both pretty much ran out of the office, he obviously didn't like being in there and I just didn't want to deal with the old nasty adults in there,"So Ashlyn, where are you from?" Michael tried to start a conversation with me but I'm insanely shy.

"I'm from Boston, actually just a little outside, in one of the small surrounding towns, what about you?"

"I'm from Australia actually, west side of Sydney."

"Explains the accent," I said as we turned a corner that led to the first class of the day, math, we were both in Algebra 2, having taken geometry last year.

"Yeah, you definitely have one too." he chuckled a little bit.

I gave him a puzzled glance,"And what would my accent be?"

"I don't know, you kind of have that Canadian accent sound."

I full out laughed, I've heard Canadian accents all the time, they love to come and shop in Boston,"Jeez, I didn't think I sounded like that!"

"Well you do," he laughed a little bit,"here we are, first period math."
