11. TEARS

I won't give you my smile.
Because you don't deserve it.

Because my smile is
a habit, not a choice.

My smile is futile, Like screaming
under water without a voice.

It is my facade, A mask I wear
to the life's ballroom dance.

It's like the new leaf bud with
which a tree hides bleeding
from it's broken branch.

No, I won't give you my smile.
Because you deserve more than a lie.

So I'll melt my own
wings made of wax,
like Icarus, I'll fall from the sky.

Breaking down all my walls
As I let my insecurities die.

And I'll give you my tears.

They will tell you more about me
Than I would ever
want you to know.

They will tell you my tragedies,
Scars I'm too ashamed to show.

So, my precious,
Don't look for my smiles,
For in them doesn't lie my heart.

Let my tears be the
confession of my love,
On the blank canvas of my face,
I'll paint for you an art.
