Isn't it hilarious?

How we voluntarily blindfold
ourselves with our opinions.

I really find it funny.

How sickness is associated with pity.
How a disease is labelled as tragedy.
How illness is interpreted as a disability.

I live with a syndrome.

And I'm fortunate enough
to have lived an epiphany.

So, listen when I say,
that the only gloom that comes
With a disease is the people
Who look at us as being less fortunate.

I know that we have mastered
the act of swallowing tablets like
they are our favourite candies.

Our phone has more hospital contacts than number of friends we have.

But we are also strongest of the
people You'll ever meet.

We know our time is divided
Between taking care of our bodies
and chasing our dreams;
So we chase them with fierce passion
in the time we are gifted.

We try to live our fullest in present
for our future can't ensure promises.

We can smile in any situation
Cause we have seen worst of days.

we all have lived the
day of our diagnosis.
We know that a sentence holds
enough power to shatter worlds.
So we use our words as precious gems.

We understand the anxious breaths.
We understand the desperation.
We understand the long wait
to hear few words.

We are among the most sympathetic people you'll ever meet,
For we have known pain in a way
only few are fated to know.

We have found a way to live
our life carrying setbacks
and happiness on a balance.

We make life long friends waiting
in the long line at the hospitals.

We know first names of all the nurses.
We are buddies with all pharmacists.

Believe me, We are nothing
you imagine us to be.

Remove your blindfolds
and look at us.

We are more than our disease.

We are a celebration of life!

We are a celebration of life!
