The city you left behind ;
It halted it's breath as it
wished you goodbye.

Watching another bird
Fly out of the nest;
The trees sadly smiled,
So did the sky.

The city you left behind,
It still stands tall on its knees.
But there are silent echoes of loss ,
that float with the calm breeze.

The city you left behind,
It carries your pieces ,
In the freckles of memories
you left behind.
In the food you cherished,
In your favorite spots that no one will ever find.
In the corners where you flourished,
In the secrets that you unwind.

This city you left behind,
It is my home;
These roads that i once walked with you
Are now watching me walk alone.

I see ghosts of our memories,
still lingering in the coffee shops,
And the alleys of backstreet.
In the wards and the hallways
Where I always had someone to greet.

Sometimes they make me feel like
You are still here,
I don't know if it's a curse or a boon.
Because as much I want to get lost in them,
The reality will trample me soon.

When I held your hand for the first time,
I didn't know what goodbyes were about.

But even if I'm given a chance to do it again,
I'll hold your hand without a doubt.

In this city you left behind,
I'm will move above and forward,

As much as I want to scream and shout;

I don't know who I am without you,
But I guess I am going to find out.
