La Havre, private school.
10:30All lesson, she couldn't focus. Not because she was bored but because she was zoned out, thinking about what her parents would say to her once she confessed everything. She was thinking of all the ways her parents would torment her and punish her, and worst of all, being exiled. She managed to sneak out of class again to go see Sadie in the courts. Immediately, she caught onto that Millie wasn't okay.
"I'm really nervous about today, Sadie."
"Why, what's happening today? It can't be that bad..." She try to smile, reassuringly and clutching her shoulder.
"I'm coming out. I'm coming out to my parents about Finn and I, but I don't want to do it."
"Uh-uh, you are not chickening out of this! If you really like this boy, then you'd bring him to meet your parents. Simple as,"
"Except it's not simple! There are so many rules and reasons why we shouldn't be together, and right now, I'm breaking the most important Royal Rule in history!"
"Stop exaggerating, Millie. I'm sure it will go finely. Even if you did have an argument with them this morning,"
"I didn't eat breakfast with them in the morning...I was too nervous to see them so I skipped and I'll see them again today, at dinner time." Sadie rolled her eyes and smirked at her. "Sadie, this isn't a joke anymore. I feel like I would be exiled for goodness sake!"
"Finally!" She laughed but Millie frowned at her.
"Well you don't know how it feels to be under pressure all the time to be doing the right thing, people are always breathing down your neck anywhere you go and you don't know if you'll mess up or not and that feeling will always be there creeping up on you, sometimes I don't even want to try go out places or talk to my own parents cause I always know something would go wrong. How would you even know how I feel, huh? Sadie, you are bisexual and haven't even come out to your parents about it! For over, four years! Four years, Sadie. And I feel like this even though I've only known him for less than two weeks, I feel sick about coming out to this." They stood in silence before Millie finally realised what she said. She was expecting Sadie to walk off hurt and upset but she didn't, she looked at her in the eye.
"Fine. I'll come out to my parents, tonight. And I think everything would be OK..." They smiled at each other and for a moment, Millie started to tear up.
"You don't have to do that, Sadie...Not if you don't want to, okay? Tomorrow if you don't do it, I wouldn't mind, okay?" They hugged, making up as friends again. Before being interrupted by the loud bell. Only a few minutes had gone by, and they still had another twenty minutes until break was over.People started to move to the entrance of the main hall, and they soon both saw a few teachers shouting something into a microphone.
"Students of La Havre Private School, as your principal I have an important announcement to make. As some of you have heard, the school has been raising a fund raiser for a teacher and her soon to born son, a small donation to help them out in situations that are preferred not to be explained. So, we will be having our first, La Havre Private School Prom!" The teacher threw his hands up waiting for an applause and cheer that never came. Everyone stood silent waiting for him to continue, so he quickly fixed up his suit and cleared his throat before continuing. "Tomorrow will be a Freshmen's dance, Wednesday will be a Juniors and Thursday will be Sophomores then Friday will be Seniors. Bring three dollars fifty for a prom ticket and your date. Please resume to your duties now," Everyone dispersed from the scene and now walking away."I think I might even ask him if we can ask my parents to ask if I can go to the dance with him but I'll have to ask first before anything really." Sadie laughed and she put a arm around Millie and walked off to the courtyard.
Millie's Palace.
6:00pm, Library. His sat up straight as soon as she entered. She was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and a high waisted black floral skirt and clear strap heels. He stared at her with admiration.
"Don't say it." She said as she sat down infront of him. He rolled his eyes before smiling at her, that smile that had a huge effect on her day. "Okay, flatter me." She beamed.
"You look, stunning this evening your majesty." They held hands and both blushed, the thought of their skin colliding together made them have goosebumps.
"You don't have to call me that, anymore." Finn shook his head in response.
"You'll always be a princess to me, Millie." She scoffed and rolled her eyes, but she appreciated what she said.
"You know...I'm not too nervous now."
"Lucky for you, but I'm starting to panic...What made you less nervous?"
"I don't know...I just spoke with, Sadie again in awhile and she said, she'll come out to her parents too."
"That's great, I'm happy you guys are friends again!" He rested his head on his hand. "How though?"
"Oh, Wolfhard, you never stop with your questions." She teased. "I needed help with something and I couldn't ask you cause you were, m.i.a So I had to ask Sadie."
"I know you'd be friends again. You always have been. Plus, you were less mean without her, it was unnatural!" He chuckled while Millie shoved him lightly.
"There's actually a prom happening in two days. My parents would never let me go though." Finn gave an surprised and confused expression. "What?" She frowned.
"Go anyways! If you didn't need your parents permission to throw a party at your own house, then you don't need your parents permission to go a small stupid dance. One thing I know about you is to not give a flying shit when it comes to your parents permission! It's one small dance, where there's probably not gonna be alcohol or drugs, it's just going to be a group of young kids having fun at a dance. If they accept me, then they'll definitely accept you going to the dance. And maybe, they have grown less tense over the years."
"Yeah...I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're right. Kind of, I'm kinda better than making emotional speeches then you are..." He pursed his lips and nodded as Millie jumped up and grabbed his hand. He stood up with her and she gave him a small peck on the cheek. He beamed back at her as she did so too and they waltzed out of the library together.
