Love Is War (Sequel To Gone)

Chapter 17: Not All Of Them...

"For a great man has fallen. A warrior. A chieftain. A father. A friend." Says Gobber.

Hiccup dips his arrowhead in a smoldering chunk of wreckage, setting the arrowhead on fire. He lets the arrow fly through the air, landing on the ship on sea, where the late chief of Berk lay, on a pyre which is covered by a sail. His helmet is on his chest wit his axe along on the ship. The others follow Hiccup's movements letting their flaming arrows fly through the sky and landing on the ship, setting it alight. Hiccup tries to hold back tears. His mental fight wins for now.

"I'm sorry dad." Hiccup says. Valka looks at him with great sympathy. Hiccup stares out to the ship. 

"I’m not the chief that you wanted me to be. And I’m not peacekeeper I thought I was. I don’t know..." Astrid is surprised. He never said anything about him being offered as being chief. But they never really had a great time to brig it up. Valka , however, isn't surprised at all. Finally seeing how her son has grown up, she is proud of him and knows he will do a great job, continuing his dad's job. But along with the last few words, she can practically feel her heart shatter. She walks up to him. 

"You came early into this world. You were such a wee thing. So frail, so fragile. I feared you wouldn’t make it." Hiccup feeling worse, looks down, not in the mood to hear this. He knows he was small and he still is, well compared to Snotlout and Fishlegs. No offence.

But she lifts his head up. "But your father... he never doubted. He always said you’d become the strongest of them all. And he was right. You have the heart of a chief and the soul of a dragon. Only you can bring our worlds together. That is who you are, son."

He looks at her. He looks back at the bright ship. Not saying anything. Finally decided on what to do he starts talking again. "I was so afraid of becoming my dad. Mostly because I thought I never could. How do you become someone that great? That brave? That selfless? I guess you can only try. A chief protects his own. We’re going back."  Hiccup turns around with a determined expression only a few of them have seen before. 

"Uh... what?" Asks Tuffnut, looking confused. 

"He took all the dragons." Says Ruffnut, having the same look as Tuffnut.

"Not all of them..." Hiccup's smile that appears is small but enough to say that to trust him on this one.

Yes I now I skipped stuff but I didn't feel like at. If you can already tell, your worst nightmare has come true about three chapters ago.

Sorry I haven't updated this chapter for a long........................................ time.

But I was really busy.

And I also want to say that this whole chapter belongs to the Dreamworks creators. I used what they used from the movies. I don't want to take credit for this. It wouldn't feel right.
